I'm trying something new this year. We don't eat red meat or pork, but we love duck! I'm going to try making Julia Child's Boef Bourginon-using boneless skinless duck breast meat and duck bacon. I've read her recipe several times and I think I can pull this off.

For the second night, I'm going to make a basic roasted chicken.

I've never really liked honey cake-I like the flavor, but every one I've ever made is dry. I think I'm going to make apple tarte tatin-with a drizzle of honey and pecans, it ought to be good.

Is anybody else trying something new? I would so love to have brisket-but DH has gout and he would have no objection to me making one, but I just can't do it knowing he can't have it.....

            Poodlepet
