I need a fp that will slice any potato including sweet from 1/8 inches up to 1 inch. I do not like the mandolin slicers. I need help with prep for vegetables with casseroles and roasting vegetables. A department store will have the Cuisinart 11- cup on sale this week for $89.99 and was concerned if it could slice thicker items like beets etc. I know this info could be searched on the internet ,but prefer help from this wonderful group that has used the product. I called Cuisinart and the cs rep was friendly and polite but could not really answer my questions. TIA for any help and suggestions. Southern Bee. My DLC-7 is 30 years old. It's in excellent shape. Used daily for many years. Less often lately, as we are a 2-person household now. However, with growing grandchildren, it's getting regular use again. I've never seen one of these adjustable blades in use.
