Thanks.........most of my recipes from the Ninja cookbook have turned out. Can't remember what it was (pork loin maybe) didn't turn out because meat was thicker than they called for and it took a long time to get done in middle so it was pretty dry!

Going to use it tomorrow and this weekend with some of my other crock pot recipes. My have to check out Bob Warden's book.

I purchased this a couple months ago and have made a few recipes from their cook book.

If I want to make a recipe from another cookbook, do I just follow that recipe or do I need to add more liquid of some type. Do things turn out as well as in a regular crock pot?

Thanks

I tried the pot roast following the recipe in the book. The directions called for it to be cooked on high for three hours as I recall. Liquid evaporated off like crazy and the meat was not fork tender. I swore never to use the Ninja as a crock pot again.....and then I got Bob Warden's slow cooker book and saw a recipe for chicken is osso bucco. I decided to give the Ninja another try: in fact, I added an extra cup of liquid in the beginning because I just knew it was going to evaporate off. I even set a timer- but lo and behold, using the slow cooker function on low worked! It was absolutely delicious and tender, and I actually ended up reducing it a little because I wanted a thicker sauce. I am skeptical when it comes to using the slow cooker function on high, but it certainly worked on the lower setting for eight hours. I was really nervous, but it worked. Poodlepet

I have the Ninja slow cooker and love it, use it once a week sometimes more often.

I have had much success with Ninja, fork tender meat. We (my husband and I )use crock pot cookbooks I have purchased over the years. I just follow the recipe in that particular cookbook I am using, never have had a failure yet.

can't even remember what happened to my Ninja cookbook.
