topic Vitamix recipe for canning San Marzano tomatoes? in Kitchen

My San Marzano tomatoes are starting to ripen, and my VitaMix is coming today. I ended up buying a used on on ebay for $225. Last year, I canned my San Marzanos whole and it was soooo much work, because had to scald each and every one of them to get the skins off. A friend mentioned that I could just puree them if I had a VitaMix. Has anyone done this, and do you have a recipe or some pointers? Ideally, I would like to puree the tomatoes, fill the jars, and put some basil sprigs, some salt and some garlic in them, then process them in a water bath.

I sure hope my used machine comes with a tamper, but I don't remember seeing anything mentioned about one on the listing. Seems things like tomatoes need to be pushed with a tamper in the Vitamix. Thanks everyone!!
