Tom Thumb. It is hot sausage stuffed in a pig's appendix and hung in a refrigerator to semi cure. She cooked them with onions, celery and peppers and broth. Sorta steamed them, then she sliced each one into 10 slices. Most of the casing had come off after steaming. It was served with cabbage and peas, cooked in the broth the Tom Thumb's were cooked in. She served it to 400 people at a luncheon.

Many or all of the recipes cooked were based on her family recipes.

You can buy Tom Thumbs at the Meat Market she goes to. She had not seen them in a while and wanted to serve them at her luncheon.

I called my Mom and she knew what a Tom Thumb was. They said the kitchen had a funky smell while cooking it. They said the sausage was delicious. Don't think I'd like this!!!

I'm watching this now. Yikes I guess you had to grow up with that cooking to appreciate it.
