I love making grilled cheese in my waffle iron. They toast so well, and the texture makes the cheese and mustard seem extra luxurious.

This is my latest new cookbook; I got it ever someone posted something like "8 Things to Make in a Waffle Iron" a couple of weeks ago - I went to the link, and that took me to another link, and, well...you know how it goes!

Lots of really unique ideas, and the recipes are fast and easy - not to mention, if you're only cooking for one or two people, you're not stuck with a ton of leftovers - you pretty much just make as much as you need.

Besides all kinds of waffle recipes, I'm particularly liking the waffled chicken fingers, sweet & sour waffled shrimp wontons, chocolate stuffed French toast, waffled migas... There are some things that you'd never dream of preparing in a waffle iron - waffled kale, anyone? Even waffled crab cakes, and waffled soft-shell crabs...

There are beautiful pictures of every recipe; five stars on this one!

What a cute and clever idea! I never bought a waffle iron because I felt like it had limited uses, but this makes me rethink the idea. Waffled eggplant? Waffle steak? I'm intrigued.

Here's a link to the site for the book and a video about the book: http://www.willitwaffle.com/video/

Funkyhulagirl, I bought the e-reader edition from Amazon a couple of weeks ago, and I love it! I would recommend this book to anybody who has a waffle iron: there is so much you can do with it other than making waffles! I made Vietnamese scallion waffles last weekend to go with my homemade Chinese dinner. They were good, but I want to find a savory recipe that has some crunch to it: I guess what I'm looking for is something closer to a Chinese scallion pancake. I can't find one restaurant that makes them down here. A couple of months ago, I just had to have them, and I made them, but it was an arduous process! Have you made falafel waffle yet? So easy and so good! Poodlepet
