I just saw this documentary, and I am fully depressed. It's about gmo's and what we doing to the world, and our bodies. Worth watching and also talking about it.

I really want to see it but it is not showing anywhere near me - not even anywhere in my state yet.

I avoid GMOs as much as I can but I'm sure some sneak in.

VCamp, GMOs also alter the genetics to make produce that are resistant to pests (result: no pesticides), last longer after harvesting (longer shelf life at home), produce lower fat in animals, produce animals that are resistant to viruses and bacteria, and produce fruits without seeds (the seedless grapes and watermelons we all love).

I'm not saying I'm pro-GMO, but that's the other side of the coin.

Not too long ago, there was a virus that wiped out the impatien plant population. The GMO impatien plants brought back their popularity.

Food for thought: were they supposed to be wiped out by Mother Nature? Did our scientists and engineers interfere with that?

I don't know enough to make a firm decision....but if it was so positive, why are Monsanto and other companies lobbying so hard to make sure our food is NOT LABELED????

Every other country labels and people make their choices.

I am VERY suspicious of any group that is anti-information for the consumer.

Fracking is the same way. There are laws in states making it ILLEGAL to let us know what is in the fluids they pump into the ground. Not only do they NOT have to discole them...it is illegal to even determine what it is!!!!

Sometimes make it more disease or drought resistant, making crops grow where they might not have grown before, crops more resistant to disease and pest so you might use less herbicides and pesticides, and feeding THOUSANDS of people that might starve otherwise.

Be careful when you paint anything with a broad brush without understanding what you are dealing with.

They aren't just making the plants resistant to pests...they are making them resistant to herbicides such as roundup. Why? so that farmers can spray roundup all over the fields to kill the weeds, and not kill the crops. The problem is that means we are eating food that has been grown on all those plants that survived being sprayed with those poisons...

I'm quite familiar with GMO research. Got out of the business because of my beliefs & ethics. GMOs are only for the profits of big business. For those of you who remember how much flavor fruit & vegetables used to have, you have GMO businesses to thank for changing that. Not to mention health risks. And why would you want to grow plants where they shouldn't grow? Someone said GMO plants make animals disease resistant. Then why are farmers & ranchers pumping their animals full of hormones & antibiotics? From some of the responses here, it looks like big agribusiness is doing a good job with their propaganda and anti-information campaigns.

Many countries, like Haiti, REFUSE to allow GMO seed in their countries. They don't want to be beholden to Monsanto forever.

When the means of producing food is in the hands of a few, it does not bode well for the future. I plant an organic garden in the spring and the fall. I have been very successful without the use of pesticides. In fact, I have so many lemon cucumbers from one plant that I had to learn to make pickles!

I don't know enough either, terrier and I studied GMOs in grad school. Not primarily, though. I know enough to not be for or against them.

In America, idiots run rampant on the internet and think they are experts. That may be why the lobby groups want to keep GMOs and fracking quiet.

I really think our food should be marked. At least, you will know what you are buying. I just do the best I can. Sometimes I worry about it but most times I dont. I do wish we would get back to growing good nutritional food. This is something we should hold sacred.
