I made the scallop cauliflower risotto using defrosted scallops;-) it was a rock star dinner for sure! The mystery to me is how the scallops didn't turn into rubber. Most PC recipes mandate two minutes on high with a rapid release. I have a 1200 watt oven and I timed it for 20 minutes: it was perfection. The scallops were sweet and tender....but I would have no idea how to adapt recipes at all. I guess for the time being, I will use the recipes in the book. Tonight I have plans to make meatballs using turkey. I am really looking forward to it. Poodlepet

Anyone else get theirs yet? I have tried a Salmon recipe and it came out really good. Then I tried the Chocolate Rice Pudding. YUK! The first thing that came to mind was you need water to cook rice....but no water in this recipe....just milk and cream. After the first cooking time, the rice was REALLY crunchy. I added another 8 oz. of cream and 8 oz. of water and cooked it for an additional 10 minutes. Only slightly crunchy this time. The jury is still out, but it might be a keeper.

Since there is 5 reviews, my question to you all is how in the world did you get the top of the cooker on and off ? Mine was so hard to close and I like to never got it turned again once I got it on. I didn't try to cook anything because there was no way I could get the lid off with hot stuff in it with all that difficultly. Maybe I am doing something wrong but I did read the reviews on the Prepolgy one and there was a lot of the same complaint on those.

Jst4, it does look like the Prepology: I don't have that one, but I wonder if the recipes are different. I really wanted to make meatballs, but the recipe they have is for meatball stuffed peppers. I am having a bad pain day and I don't want dinner to be a failure, so I am going to make it in my electric PC. Poodlepet

I'm with you....I also tried to make the rice pudding last night. It was awful! Rice was not cooked at all and I followed the instructions to the letter plus even added extra time even though my microwave is 1200 watts. Then, I put it on the stove and had to keep adding milk to make it eatable...eventually had to throw the whole thing out because the rice never did get cooked properly! I also made the ribs last night and they were so tough that I had to keep putting them back in over and over again that the rest of our dinner was cold by the time we finally ate. I don't know what went wrong but my husband was NOT happy and kept saying that I should not have bought it! I might send it back but I think he threw out the box!??

I have only used this pressure cooker twice, once for the meatloaf and today to quickly cook red potatoes for potato salad. I like my own meatloaf recipe better than the one in the book but it did cook well and was very moist. I will try to adapt my recipe to use. My microwave is 1600 watts so the meatloaf was done in 15 minutes. Much better than the 1 1/2 hours in the oven. Decided to experiment with the potatoes since I hate cooking them in a pan on the stove. Guessed at the amount of water to use but they were finished in a little less than 10 minutes and no messy boil over mess to clean up. Not sure exactly how much I will use it, but I'm going to try some more recipes in the book and try to adapt more of my own as I figure out the learning curve. It is a time saver and I do like that.

It does open hard and I'm not crazy about that but I can deal with it. It's actually kind of fun.

Haven't tried it yet but bought it primarily to make soup/stews in. Not crazy about the recipe book....but I am not sure how to gear my own recipes to the cooker...any tips? I'd like to make chicken soup first (not the kale one) but I am wondering can I use chicken on the bone (much more flavor)?

I noticed that all the big cuts of meat, like corned beef and chuck roast for pot roast are sliced first...can't I cook it whole and add more time to the recipe?

I hope I can adapt or it's going back

Any tips/help is very much appreciated...I am feeling very insecure about this product!
