Ocean- thank you so much for taking the time to do the photos, it's very helpful. The medium platter and jumbo bowl look like the perfect fit. I'm so excited to get them, I have all different colors so I can just pick up random pieces when I see them.

I have a good amount of fiesta already, including a couple of the larger serving platters. I'm thinking about getting some of the small oval platters to use for soup and sandwiches. Are they a good size to use with the jumbo cup/bowl and a sandwich on the side? I looked at the measurments but it's hard to visualize. Does anyone have the small size, is it useful? Thank you

Do you mean the 13 inch size?

I collect those and Buffalo China platters that are the same size and dimension.

I use them for buffet plates on my front porch. They have a nice deep lip and hold a sandwich, a small soup bowl and I even have room for a drink glass. I don't need to put them on a separate tray. They are the most versatile plates in my collection.

Terrier13- thanks for the quick reply. I was I actually thinking about the 9 5/8 inch. I have a couple of the 13 and love them but use them only for serving, we have young kids and need something a bit smaller

ellabell28--I only have the small platters, 5 of them. I use them for sandwiches/chips, Chinese food, hot sandwiches (turkey, beef, etc.) with fries and gravy because of the deep lip like terrier3 said. I put the small bowl which we use for a cup of soup, on the small platter. It leaves too small of a space on the platter for a sandwich. There would be room for crackers or possibly a half of a sandwich (like a kid's PBJ 1/2 sandwich)

I don't own any jumbo mugs so I don't know how that would work.

Hi, ellabell28,

I have the small oval platter (9 5/8 inches long) and I use it for a little tray under my sugar & creamer. I think it would be a cute underplate for the jumbo cup. I have not used it that way before, but I think it would fit nicely, with a little room on the side for crackers or a piece of bread I think. I can take a photo sometime soon when I have a chance, (maybe tomorrow) and post it here.

I have two medium oval platters (11 5/8 inches long). I think those are great! I have used them with a jumbo cup and it makes a great soup/sandwich server! I happen to have a photo of the medium oval platter and the small rice bowl (Dillard's exclusive), so I will post it to show you how nicely it fits:

And, I have a picture of the individual casserole on the medium platter. It looks very nice when it is centered on the platter, but it can also be used on the side for more space for a roll, etc.

And then the medium oval platter with the sandwich & bouillon bowl! Perfect!

Hope this helps!

Ella, I have the ones shown in the last picture posted above. They are perfect for a soup and sandwich. I primarily use them for dinner platters on the table, though. Veggies, etc., look great on these and for my family of 4 they are perfect.

I have those platters and I have always used them under the individual casseroles (I make chicken pies and enchiladas in them). Never thought of using them for sandwiches - good to have another use. Thanks.

You will like the medium oval platters, Ellabell!

I thought I would also post some pictures of the small oval platter. This small platter is just so cute. It is commonly used as the underplate for the sauce/gravy boat. I use it for a tray for my cream & sugar.

Today I decided to take a picture of this small oval platter (9 5/8 inches long) with the jumbo cup. It makes a very cute "saucer" I thought! I like it better than using the jumbo cup on the luncheon plate.

And, since I love taking photos of my fiesta pieces, I decided to do a comparison between the two sizes, just for fun.

It is kinda hard to tell sizes from a photo, but it may help to compare the two platters on the placemat and also compare both of them with the jumbo cup and the teaspoon.

Medium oval platter (11 5/8 inches long):

Small oval platter (9 5/8 inches long):

Ellabell, you are so welcome! You will love the medium platters. I have used them for a main dish salad, such as taco salad, chef salad, etc. The edge is so nice. They are great for our Chinese Food left-overs. Good for a serving platter for a few people too. And, most of all, for the perfect soup/sandwich platter!
