I use fresh farm eggs and have no problem. I boil them for 3 minutes, and turn the burner off and let them sit for about 15 minutes. I had more problems with sticking shells with store bought eggs.

Does anyone know how to make Hard Boiled Eggs that peel easily. Every time I make them, the shell always sticks to the eggs and I waste half the egg. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would really appreciate them. Thank you.

I boil them and then let them stand in the water on medium for exactly 15 min. I then run cold water over them and transfer them into another bowl and run more cold water. I let them sit for a few minutes and then into the fridge.

It always works for me. Some stoves may have different temps but consistently this routine has worked for me.

I know what you mean... it's frustrating when you waste those eggs!

Just made them today. You salt the water the eggs will cook in. Cover the eggs in the cold water. Get the water to a hard, rolling boil, I leave my timer on 15 min's to be sure of that, then let the eggs boil in this for 5 min's. Turn off the heat, put the lid on for 25 minutes. Then I do ice cube water in the sink. Drain the eggs and make they hit the sides to crack them. Then put them for 2 min's in the ice water. From there you can peel them under cold running water. I peel and redunk in ice water if needed. Be sure to get that little membrane off to help it peel correctly. Then you are done. My shells came off and the eggs all peeled just fine.

Learned this from that little gal on t.v. who cooks. Rachel Ray. It's her way of doing it. I'll bet she even demonstrates on her web page. Not sure, but she might. HTH

I feel your pain. I swear they are making eggs different these days. LOL. I have tried everything from using old eggs to salting the water to putting vinegar in the water. Nothing works all of the time, but the best I found is to use alot of salt in the water (like a handfull), bring to boil, cover, remove from heat and let sit for ten minutes. Then put in cold water. Peeling them under running water helps too. I peel all of mine and put in a container in frig.

I read somewhere to peel them under running water - it really works. The other thing is to roll the egg on the counter and start peeling at the larger end.

I use an egg cooker. When I'm ready to eat or cook with the egg, I put it in a covered dish and shake it. That cracks the shell all over the whole egg and it peels off easily after that.

This is different from what most people have posted, but it always works for me. I boil the eggs as usual, (whatever your method is) put the pan of hot water with the eggs under warm running water, enough to be able to get the eggs out and handle them. I rap them on the edge of the sink until they're cracked all over, then start at the bigger end (where the "bubble" is), and peel them under the warm running water, making sure when you start that you get under the membrane. Most times the peels come off in just two or three pieces. It may sound different, but it does work every time. (Unless my eggs are too fresh.)

I've tried every tip and trick in the book, and it was still hit or miss. I finally got an egg cooker (Kalorik), and every egg has cooked and peeled perfectly.

I'm not one to buy cooking appliances that are dedicated for only one food, but the egg cooker has been worth it, ending years of frustration. It's not too big, and it's easy to clean and store.
