Thanks. That's what I needed to know. We have every store possible in this area, but I think if I order it I'll get it from Amazon. I like the bracelet one because it has the wake up feature… sounds nicer than my blaring alarm clock, though I usually wake up on my own anyway.

Can it be submerged in water? Is it tough enough to endure house cleaning, car washing and all that?

Thanks again.

I'm thinking of purchasing one. I used to have something similar from WW. The WW one was only good as long as I was paying for use of their tracking website. Is FitBit the same?

Also, where is the best place to purchase it?

Thank you.

Once you purchase your Fitbit you will be able to set up your account to access your dashboard online. It is very easy to do and they have excellent support if you need it. My fitbit came from Amazon but I saw they offered it on Qvc and Hsn. Mine was $99. Good luck!

The fibit website is free.

I got mine through work. I've seen it offered in the target flyer a while ago at a slightly lower price and you got an extra band or two. If you didn't hold out for a sale, most retailers are similar in price.

no fee for the Fitbit, I got mine from Amazon, interestingly the price bounced around for about a week and i ended up paying around 89/91 ish. We got the fitbit one it clips on to your clothing,

We love it, really helps you see what you are eating vs. your activity.

If you have a Red Card and purchase from Target, you'll get about $5 off, so the price is closer to $95. Mine syncs to the Fitbit dashboard app on my iPhone so I can look at my stats throughout the day.

If shopping at Best Buy, check the online price because many times it is cheaper than in the store. They will honor that price in the store, that was my experience when I bought my fitbit.

The fitbit comes with two bracelets and both of mine broke within a month with normal wear and tear. Apparently this is a common problem if you read the website. Target simply replaced it for me with no charge and re-upped the warranty. I love it! I wear it to work out, garden, water outside plants, mow, clean the house, shower...pretty much everything but swim. It is recommended not to wear it while swimming. Good luck - it is a great purchase!

You can wear the Fitbit Flex while swimming or showering. It won't hurt the device. I choose to take mine off now because I don't like my arm staying wet due to the little bit of water that gets into the band. But the device is fine. I used to wear it in the pool too. I've had the same device for over a year and I'm on my second band. I wear it constantly other than when it has to be charged and those times I choose to take it off when I don't want it to get wet. But it's nice to know it isn't harmed by getting wet!

I have the Fitbit that clips to your clothes because I don't care to wear one around my wrist when I have so many pretty bracelets to wear. Mine was around $48 and I purchased it on Amazon. I bought it because my work enrolled us in the Humana Vitality Program and we have to earn a certain number of Vitality points this year or our Medical insurance premium will be increased next year. Each individual is responsible for getting their points. The Fitbit one of the approved devices through Human Vitality so I bought it. I used to use my Pedometer but I could not earn points with my Pedometer. I like the fitbit just fine. It is easy for me to get 5000 steps walking in work and if I go to the grocery store or something like that. For vitality points 10,000 steps in needed for a "verified workout". I use my rebounder for that. This weekend I was so tired, I did nothing. I only have about 2000 steps registered now. I stayed home all day. I wear my fitbit in my bra and you cannot see it and I can still wear my pretty bracelets. I did not want that rubbery looking band around my wrist. I did see that Tory Birch sells a bracelet to put your fitbit in and it is around $195. I have such nice Jewerly that I collected over the years I would prefer to wear it.

I do water aerobics with a woman who wears a fitbit and I wear a Polar HRM with a chest strap. I will say that we are about the same age and size so our calorie burn should be the same and it wasn't. She was getting a reading of 700+ calories which is impossible for a 45 minute class. The most I've ever gotten in water aerobics is 350. I burned 280 that day.

I would just be careful of the readings that seem extreme.
