I agree with the other responses. I, too, either add the cut-out directions or other information in the container or tape it to the outside.

The problem with a pocket is that, when washing, it would fill with liquid, and I imagine that would be difficult -- if not impossible -- to dry thoroughly, resulting in bacteria and "gunk" build up.

I love, love, love Lock & Lock. However, being diabetic, I need to know the nutritional value of the foods I eat. I would love to see if they could somehow add some kind of a small "pocket" on the bottom (or lid) that you could slip the nutritional value that you cut off packages.

I have this same issue with foods I store that need the cooking directions kept with them. I just cut it off the box and place it inside the L&L on top of the food contents. Not the prettiest look, but that way I don't loose the directions. You could try the same thing with the nutritional info as well. I do like your suggestion though!

I've done the same thing for many years and it works great. I only cut enough of the information I need and cut it neatly. Then place on the top of my Jasmine rice or whatever.

I too cut out the nutritional info and tape it to the top of the L&L. If it's a dry product, I even put what I need right in the container.

I cut out directions, etc. and tape to exterior of L n L. I think a "pocket" would increase the cost substantially plus, as other poster said, it would fill with water when washed. I also bought some stickers somewhere that you can put on freezer or other items and they are supposed to come off with a couple of washings. (not sure may have been from Amazon)

Agree with the others that it's so easy to just tape something to the outside of the container. If it's something large, like a label, I just use my 2" packing tape. Otherwise, Scotch tape works just fine. Sometimes I make a one-line label (like 'use first') with my label maker.

Any way you go, the tape comes off clean as could be.

With stuff like 'use by' or 'best by' dates that are on the outside of packaging, I just cut that out and slide it in along the side of the container so I can actually see it from the outside.

** Just a note.

I did that with my dog's food too. show the code # . There was a recall on food we use over a year ago and the package was gone. Now, I put that info in with the dog food. It was a bit scary for us, since she'd already had some of the food, and all is well. We never thought of that scenario for an instant. So do that to protect your dry food. JMHO

I always use Frog tape (in green). It's used by painters and it will stay on, but you can pull it off with no residue. I just write on it with a magic marker in a bright color. This way I can label my Lock n Lock and never leave a mess.

JMHO

That's such a good idea! I used to cut out that part of the bag and kept them for the longest time. I did get tired of that (should have put them into the Lock & Lock with the food like you do!) and started just taking a picture of the information as I get each bag.

I think I'll go back to cutting out the information and put it into the last L&L of the bag (I have 3 L&L containers that I use for each 30# bag).
