I own a Breville oven and I love it. It's much more expensive than most, but it's worth every cent. It also got top marks from Consumer Reports.

Couldn't live without it. I just finished heating up a frozen pizza (a healthy organic one!) in it. In summer, I use it to roast veggies, heat crusty things that would be ruined by nuking, and, of course, for good old fashioned toast. No toaster I've bought has ever maintained consistent toasting ability, whereas the toaster oven does.

They need changing every two years or so in my experience, but are still worth it. If you go for it, I hope you enjoy it!

I hate mine! I've had a series of them all throughout my 30+ years of marriage and I am so ready to trash the latest one. I never use it. I would prefer a smaller, less obtrusive traditional toaster. DH an DS don't want to get rid of it because we order pizza on Friday nights and they like the toaster oven to reheat the leftovers.

If it were up to me it would be out the door.

Well since I only turn on my oven maybe two or three times a year (and one if those times it's Thanksgiving) I use my toaster oven much more. I live in Arizona and turning on the oven from May until November would heat up the house to much. We live for the microwave, electric frying pan and toaster oven.

For many years we had a regular toaster. About 10 years ago we switched to a toaster over and I really prefer it. There is a heat setting along with the toast settings and sometimes it's nice to just to heat something up, without toasting (or for something that you cannot successfully microwave.) It's silly, but my kids love bagels in the morning and they do not like them toasted, per se. They prefer them "heated up". And I oblige!

I've had one most of my adult life; one type or another. I will say that my most recent one is my favorite. It's really a small oven. It can bake up to two 12" pizzas at one time and each rack will hold a 2QT serving dish. It has convection bake as an option along with broil, etc.

For my two cents, I think they are well worth having!

Yay! There is so much that can be cooked in a toaster oven. I make pizza on 8" stones which I bought at Amazon, baked potatoes, and on and on and on. It saves so much energy to use a toaster oven over the regular oven, but of course, one must use that for the large items. I am without a kitchen lately, but between the toaster oven, microwave, and two burners, we only get take out once in a while, as I am able to cook a variety of meals.

If you're talking about a regular toaster oven as opposed to what is sometimes referred to as a "countertop oven", I couldn't live without mine! I'm thinking about getting a new one because I paid about $20 for it (4-slice toaster oven that also bakes and broils) about 10 years ago, but a new one would probably look and work a little better. I use it for everything from toasting bread for sandwiches, then putting them back in to melt cheese on top, heating/crisping store-bought burritos, egg rolls, just about anything. I like to butter my bread and then top brown it sometimes, especially for garlic bread, which you can't do in a regular toaster.

I also have a larger countertop oven which bakes, broils, toasts, and has a rotisserie, which I use a lot to bake cakes, make mac & cheese, etc. instead of heating up my big oven, especially during the summer.

I would be very unhappy if someone took away my toaster oven!

I have the Breville mini smart oven and use it every day. When it is 90 degrees outside, anything that gets baked at my house gets baked in the Breville. Keeps the AC from running all day! Amazon sells a set of non-stick pans that are smaller than 9x13 and fit the oven perfectly. All I ever need for just 2 people. It does much more and holds the temperatures better than any 'toaster oven' I have owned.

Yea! I wouldn't be without one. I hate turning the oven on for one small thing. Toaster ovens are very handy. I don't use it to toast bread, unless there's something on top of the bread (like tuna salad or chicken salad) and I want to make a melt.
