Lillybell2 is correct. Our blades were replaced. The container is the same and I am having no problems with leakage. In fact, I was so impressed with Vitamix's prompt response to the issue and I was actually happy the recall happened. I was only out of having a blender one week and I did only send the pitcher without the lid. They gave me a nice smoothie cookbook and upped my warranty to 8 years!!!! )). I am sure IF I ever did have leakage in the future Vitamix would send me a new container free of charge.

I have seen articles on the internet about the recall of the low profile 64 oz. containers that caused laceration problems. People that had problems with this were sent a new container but many are now experiencing leakage on the top lid with the new container. I am on the fence now and want to buy the 7500 but if I am going to shell out my hard earned money only to have issues with the new container then no thanks. Some have said that vitamix has sent them several new containers and they have had problems with all of them a since the recall, a total nightmare!

Can anyone confirm buying a 7500 model after the recall and that the issue has been resolved? I would love to buy a vitamix but dont want to have to return the container due to manufacturing defects.

Mine was part of the recall. They sent an extra container while mine was being repaired and told me to keep it. The repaired one arrived within a couple of weeks. I haven't had problems with either of them. I love my 7500.

I don't know from what source you're getting your information, but it's wrong.

I have a Pro 750, which has the same motor and body style as the 7500, except that it has presets as well as the variable speed control. It also uses the same low-profile 64 oz. container with the 4 inch blade that is used with the 7500.

Firstly, there was never a problem with the container. The problem was with the blade. The blade did not lacerate anyone. The problem was blade failure, which happened to 18 blades out of the thousands of Next Generation machines sold.

Secondly, any/all machines with the defective blade that were still on the shelves at the time of the recall were removed and replaced. All new blades, whether replacement blades or blades in the containers of new machines, will have a date etched on the blade of 08/13 or after.

Thirdly, the recall was for blade replacement, not container replacement. I sent my container in, without the lid. Vitamix replaced the blade in my container and then returned it to me. Obviously, my lid still fit on my container.

A friend of mine has a 7500. She sent in her container, without the lid, and Vitamix sent her a new container because her much used container was pretty scratched up. The lid from her old container fits just fine on her new container.

My daughter has a Pro 750. She sent her container in without the lid, and received the container back with a new blade installed. Her lid fits just like it always did.

I have several friends who have recently purchased either a Pro 750 or a 7500. They have had no issues with the lids or containers on these new machines.

In summary, there is not nor has there ever been an issue with the low profile containers. The issue was with the 4 inch blade, and that problem has been rectified.

All Vitamix containers have vented lids. This is to prevent pressure from building up inside the container and popping the lid off, for example when making hot soup, the vents provide a release outlet for steam pressure. However, regardless of the Vitamix model, if any container is overfilled, and the contents expand during processing, then yes, some of the contents could be released through the vents. Again, this is not by accident, it's by design, and is intended to prevent pressure from pushing the lid off while the machine is running, which would cause one heck of a mess.
