This POS has died for the THIRD TIME since I got it a year and a half ago! All my food is ruined...AGAIN. I want this garbage out of my house and my money back!

Sorry to hear about your problems. It may sound trite, but you might want to go to Sears and buy a Kenmore. I have a 28 yr old Kenmore that I thought was dying 2 years ago (2 service calls in 28 years). So I went and bought another Kenmore. I didn't have them take the old one because I wanted time to clean out, etc. Well, the old one was 26 then, it didn't quit running, and now it's 28. And the new one is 2 years old and running great. Now I've filled up 2 refrigerators and freezers! Others in my family have had Kenmore's for many, many years with no problems. Same with other Kenmore appliances. I know there are more high end names out there which you might prefer, but Sears makes all kinds and styles, and I've never had appliances that were so reliable.

This time it's the refrigerator - AGAIN. The POS stove I got from them didn't work from day one, and took over a year to get repaired.

I contacted the store I got this trash from (Heii Happens Gregg) to arrange for repair, and they can't get someone here until next week - isn't that special? No - I have to eat out all my meals for the next week, and can't even get a cold drink!

I've had it - I'm contacting the president of the company as well as HH Gregg - I want this trash out of my house, my money back, and reimbursement for all the money their trash has cost me, or they're going to be facing a class action lawsuit.

Do not, do not, DO NOT buy anything from Lousy Garbage/Lotta Grief!

All my appliances are Kenmore and original to moving into our house (in 1998) except for our dishwasher which is 2 yrs old(Kenmore replaced a Kenmore)!!! Actually our fridge went down over the weekend but after cleaning the condensing coils its once again cooling. Knock on Wood!! If it does die I will buying another Kenmore(whirlpool)!!

My mom always had Kenmore appliances so I'm sure I won't change!!

I usually buy the middle of the road priced Kenmore.

I have had an LG fridge for over 6 years and love it. Not one problem. I also have a LG washer and dryer and, again, not one problem. You should have immediately returnedthe appliance that didn't work from day one. A year to get a stove repaired? It sounds like either you got some real lemons or could there be some problem from the store that you purchased them from? I say that because when we ordered our washer and dryer from Sears , we had to wait 1 month for them to be delivered. Then , when the delivery date finally came, we get a call from Sears delivery saying that delivery had been delayed . Called Sears and they said the problem stemmed from LG. Called LG and they said there was no problem from them. After 3 days of doing our own exhaustive investigation, the culprit of the delays was Sears, not LG. Sears only made us happy after reimbursing us some cash for our inconvience of not have a washer and dryer for 3 weeks. (It was a very large purchase, money wise.) But I do love that LG washer and dryer!

I have a septic field. You can't have a garbage disposal with a septic field. Why don't you 'pretend' you have a septic field.

Our Kennmore refrigerator is 28 years old too and we have never had one problem or service call in all that time. We recently bought new Kennmore clothes washer and dryer. I just love them. The only other brand major appliance we have is a Maytag dishwasher and love that too.

Sears was so good about their customer service for me, I totally forgot that when I bought the new fridge 2 years ago, I was a little paranoid about the inside temp, since I had been checking the old one constantly with a refrigerator thermometer. I didn't think the new one was keeping the correct temp in all areas, so I called them. They wound up immediately bringing me a new one, and gave me a $50 gift card for the inconvenience. I'm still not sure if the first one was actually defective, I just knew that the thermometer said the temp was not consistent. This one is--I keep a thermometer in it all the time and move it from time to time. I'm in the market now for a new wall oven and ceran cooktop, and will most likely go back to Sears.

Our Kenmore fridge is over 25 years also and no problems. Got a new washer a few years ago and love it and dryer is still going strong from long ago. (both Kenmore)

Don't mean to rain on this parade but my husband and I replaced the fridge in our house shortly after we moved in with a Kenmore Elite. This model is the same one that Home Depot sells under an LG model number. Everything identical from the layout to the filters for air and water the fridge uses. Not sure if LG manufactures for Kenmore or vice versa. In my experience, many of the brands are manufactured by another under some sort of OEM agreement.

I’ve have a LG washer and dryer for 5 years now and I haven’t had one problem with either of them. I guess there are lemons in every brand. I would buy LG again. I remember wen my mom always bought Maytag washers. The last set she got was a POS!!!

If you have a Kenmore, you can find out who actually manufactured your appliance by using the model number - there are websites or you can ask your Sears salesperson to find out for you. There are some Kenmore appliances that are made by LG, along with other manufacturers including Whirlpool and Amana. This is from the website of a major appliance repair company listing most major brands, styles, etc. LG has a "Not Recommended" rating of E, as shown below.

Avoid GE, LG, Samsung & Panasonic. They have the most problems.

E Poor warranty support, Made in S. Korea

E No part availability, Poor warranty support

This has given me pause, and I will be investigating who made mine! When I purchased it, I thought all the Kenmore refrigerators were made by Whirlpool, but that's not the case. I've had no problems with it in two years, I really like it, and I have a 5-year warranty, so I will hope for the best. So many companies do things for other companies, one company buys out another one but leaves them with their name, etc., until you can't tell who is who any more or who makes what.

Before we do major appliances, my hubby goes in and checks how they're rated. (Hopefully you can trust these ratings), but some are better than none. So far, we've been lucky. The washer we got, LG. Doing ok so far.

You can have a garbage disposal with a septic field. You can have a regular one but there are also more expensive ones that are made just for homes with septic fields, that provide a solution that helps break down foods. I have a septic field and have had a regular garbage disposal for 8 years now without any problems. Others in the area have had them for as long as 20+ years and never had any septic problems.

My home is 30+ years old and we have a septic field with a regular garbage disposal and have never had any septic problems.
