Did anyone else try this ham for Easter? It cost double what their other hams cost but it was wonderful. I like their regular hams too but this will be my favorite from now on. So delicious, not salty at all. Everyone commented on how good it was and how they weren't thirsty later on. Anyone else try it?

I didn't think we had Aldi's in the U.S. yet. Maybe you are somewhere else, or maybe we do have Aldi's here. I do know that people who got Trader Joe's hams last Christmas were very happy with them. TJ is part of Aldi.

Sooner, do you know if you are not satisfied with anything from Aldi, they immediately return your money AND offer a replacement. In the years I have shopped there, only dissatisfied with a cheese item and I was totally surprised with their guarantee policy. I would take back your leftovers OR stop in the store to tell them you were not happy with your purchase. Best replacement policy that I am aware of. Cece

Cece

Trader Joe's has the same policy for TJ branded items, which is 99% of the store. I know - it's not surprising since both stores are owned by the same German company. I honestly think both stores sell the same items, just in different packages and with an up-charge at TJ's. If you have access to both, shop at Aldi's and save yourself some money.

I did not try it. I have tried the black forest ham sandwich meat that is natural uncured. It was good. They started carrying a line called Simply Nature. Some are organic products. They are slowly stocking more & more products. I love the Simply Nature Crunchy Peanut Butter Energy Bars. I have been eating one for breakfast or lunch. They have 2 other varieties but have not tried them. The lady checking said she liked the peanut butter but did not like the chocolate. DH likes the Simply Nature Strawberry Preserves. I have also bought the Simply Nature organic salsa, almond butter, frozen strawberries, blueberries, chicken broth, vegetable broth etc. They also have bacon & some grass fed beef which I have not tried yet.

The brand is Simply Nature. It was wonderful. Uncured (no nitrates). I heated in the slow cooker on low for about 5 hours as I was out most of the day. Put a little pineapple juice, mustard, and maple syrup in with it. It came with a glaze packet I didn't use. Delicious. I would definitely purchase again. Most hams are too salty for me. This one wasn't, which may be a function of the lack of sodium nitrate/nitrite. IIRC as I don't still have the wrapper, it was $2.99/lb.

Some products in the Simply Nature brand are organic, like their cheddar cheese which I also like. When I'm in Aldi's, I look for that brand, organic local produce, and items imported from Europe. So far I've not been disappointed.
