I have the Ninja Crispi. It's just the two of us so it's the right size. Two bowls, one small, one large. Easy to clean. On sale at Costco this month if your interested.

@mare54 , I have the Ninja Dual Zone flex basket. It has a removable center divider. You can cook two different items at different temps etc or you can do the mega zone, take out center divider and cook larger batches or items using the whole tray. Love.

I swear by the InstaPot Vortex Plus. Use it everyday Cooks perfectly. Never had a problem. Did plenty of research and the InstaPot has great reviews. Has a window so you can see what you’re cooking.

I have this Wolfgang Puck from HSN. It goes on sale for $79 to $89 all the time. There are just two of us, but I can't imagine having a smaller one. Easy to clean and simple dials...

Huh. I've never eaten anything cooked in an air fryer, so I have no idea if I would actually use it. At the moment, I have enough on my kitchen counters.

I have a very small one, Cosori Air Fryer 2.1 QT. Top-rated on Amazon. It's just me here so the small size is perfect for single servings. Easy clean up and has a small footprint on my counter. $50.

I have had quite a few different air fryers. I currently have an Instant Pot Vortex and a Ninja Crispi. I like both but I have been using the Crispi more. As another poster said, Costco has a great deal on a Ninja Crispi. I think that Crispi tends get things crispier and food stays moist.

I like my Ninja 5 in 1 Foodie. It's more expensive, but the interior is stainless steel, not plastic. And it opens from the top instead of a pull out basket.

What does an air fryer do that a microwave, which we use daily, doesn't? We don't eat french fries!!!

I make sweet potato fries and regular fries, reheat leftovers like fish and chips, pizza, wings, anything frozen can be made in a few minutes and it gets it crispy. I reheated a chimichanga just today. We go out to eat often and almost always have leftovers. An air fryer reheats without getting soggy or limp.

Asparagus spears are done in 9 minutes.

Raw chicken breasts are done in around 20 or so.

Baked potatoes are easy.

I have a friend who makes hardboiled eggs in her air fryer.

Raw frozen salmon is done in around 14 minutes.

I used it almost every day. If it breaks, I'm getting another one instantly. I have the Ninja 2-cavity air fryer.

I seem to think some manufacturers sell a combination toaster oven and air fryer.

When I need a new toaster oven, I'll look at that possibility, simply because a lot of people seem to like them.

@Tinkrbl44 I also don't see the need for a toaster oven. As I've said, we have a microwave that we use a lot and DH has a George Foreman grill which he uses a lot.

We're like you--do not make anything fried.

@mare54 - After some extensive research leading up to all the sales going on this week, I decided to upgrade to the Cosori 9-in-1 (currently discounted to $85 on Amazon). It has ceramic coating instead of the Teflon-style nonstick coating that peels off, provides a lot of cooking space without taking up too much counter space, offers more functions than I probably need (it will be interesting if I can use my air fryer for even more!), and has fantastic reviews from both customers and professional testers.

I currently have a smaller Dash air fryer that I love, but I wanted to try the full ceramic experience and chose to go bigger as well (Dash does have a nice ceramic version of my unit). The customer service team at Dash is fantastic and has replaced my standard tray once and then replaced that replacement with a ceramic one, but the basket is now getting sad with peeling in the inner corners. Despite its condition, I still use this air fryer frequently and would still recommend it to cook for one or two people.

Anyway, I wish you luck! Now is the time to check out the deals and read the reviews to get just the right unit for you.

For anyone who is considering an air fryer but is less familiar with the overall concept, it is basically a convection oven for your countertop. Its name comes from the fact that it uses air to cook food with effects that are similar to frying, including golden and crispy. You don't have to use any oil for cooking if you don't want to, but I recommend using a nice oil mist/spray bottle to add just a spritz of oil for optimal results in some cases.

As the years have gone by, I've found myself cooking more and more in my air fryer, including most of my proteins—it does a wonderful job with steaks, chops, and burgers as well as chicken. If you want to use it for frozen appetizers and sides, it handles them well, but I often cook homemade fries, potato wedges, and breaded chicken strips and love how they turn out. If you have small pans to insert, you can even bake in an air fryer. (I recently purchased a fancier air fryer, as noted in my post above, and I look forward to seeing what it can do with different fan settings.)

In addition to the excellent results and ease of use, I also appreciate my air fryer because my kitchen is in the middle of my house, which means my regular stovetop and oven can add significant smoke and heat when cooking, but the air fryer keeps everything contained in its small, simple footprint and only minimally affects my space.

Overall, I think just about every household could benefit from adding an air fryer as a cooking option; it is much more than a gadget for frozen foods.

@Tinkrbl44 It's basically a countertop convection oven. It's not using oil to fry.
