I'm finding that we don't drink as much coffee as we used to and it might make sense to get a single serving coffee maker. I'm familiar with Keurig, but could you recommend another reliable brand that would not need Keurig cups? I would like to fill my own brewing cup with the coffee that I have been drinking. Thanks!

You can use Keurig with your own coffee. Reusable stainless steel cups are available from large online seller to fill with your favorite coffee. That's what I do.

You might be interested in a metal cone with perforated holes that fits over a coffee mug. A single-serve amount of ground coffee, along with an optional paper filter, is placed into the cone, followed by pouring boiling water through it. I use it when I do not want to make a full pot of coffee. Unfortunately, I do not recall where I got it other than that I ordered it online.

I love the Bialetti Moka pots, which come in different sizes. I believe 3 cups is the smallest, but just bear in mind that by "cup" they mean the small espresso-sized cup. These are used on stovetops; they are not electric. They make what is close to an espresso-type brew without investing in a several hundred dollar espresso machine.

I use one every morning, unless I am in a super hurry, and then it is time for the Keurig or Nespresso machines.

Yes, I am a tad coffee-centric.

We have this Ninja single serve coffee maker. You can either use pods or grounds, change the size of the cup you want to make and it has a frother. A plus is it is very thin so doesn't take up much room on the counter.

Now truthfully, I have never made a cup of coffee with this maker, but my husband seems to like it.😄

We have a tiny Mr Coffee maker--just makes 4 cups --good old fashion brand, nothing fancy, cheap and does just fine. I don't drink coffee but DD drinks decaf--I bought her a Kuerig a few yeas ago--about $100 then and it was a piece of garbage--made horrible coffee no matter what she tried to do. Trashed it within a year and I bought this Mr Coffee. Now at her job, there is a Nespresso and she says it is far superior to Kuerig.

I have this exact model by Ninja and highly recommend it. I drink one cup a day and this meets my needs perfectly. If you don't want to buy "Kcups" you can make one cup of drip coffee with loose grounds. I've used it both ways and was happy with the results. I brew the 8oz cup size but there are also 6oz and 10oz choices. It's very well designed, with everything stored on or in the machine.

Looks like it has some variety in size, strength, etc. Does anyone use the frother? I have $30 in kohl's cash burning a hole in my pocket, so i think i will get it.
