I know it's better because you don't have the additives and it does melt better. Tks for info.

Thanks so much for posting the item @JeanLouiseFinch It looks like a nice one.

I have a small condo kitchen and space is pretty full, so I have to keep gadgets to a minimum.

I have an old timey manual cheese grater like this, I seldom use, (so if anything, this could replace that) a tiny chopper, a small Cuisinart food processor, and two handheld graters, box type, and plane, I use for regular parmesan grating from a block.

My main thought here was how anyone could shred mozzerella as I only know the soft type that comes whole. I guess you'd just break it up into the lasagna. I feel it's less stringy too, which is kind of what everyone likes in this. I'll do some YT'g for ideas or just resort to my Sargento. I'll tell you this...once the task is at hand....quick, easy will be my desire! It's quite the process in my small kitchen.

Still going to check out the HSN one, though right now I don't have one place to store it! Lol. I thought this out after asking you about it, and seeing it would need some space to store. Tks again!

While pre[shredded is convenient, grating blocks of low-moisture or fresh mozzarella yourself yields superior flavor & texture for that perfect cheesy pull."

I think I will try this, this year. Not to waste it, I may just put some of the bag I haven't opened yet, so it doesn't go to waste. But will mix in and mostly use the fresh.

Actually, the sell-by dates for the affected shredded cheese are between January and March 2026. The recall was initiated in October and formally posted in December. Here's a Consumer Reports article with further details:

consumerreports.org/health/food-recalls/shredded-cheese-recall-a1396345250/
