Most Hated Thanksgiving side dishes

I just read that 27% of people polled said they hated candied sweet potatoes, 25% hated green bean casserole and 24% hated cranberry sauce.

I wonder who still serves these items. Do you eat them?

At our house we love the candied sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce, but yuk to green bean casserole.

I cannot abide stuffing, but DH loves it. He is also an enormous sweet potato fan, but I prefer regular potatoes.

We both like green beans, especially if a little flavor is added.

I drink cranberry juice every day. I love all berries!

I have green beans casserole and cranberries but with orange. Yuk on the sweet potatoes.

I've never liked sweet potatoes or yams, candied or not. Sweet potato pie...yuck. I will only eat Russet potatoes.

I love the candied sweet potatoes, stuffing, mashed potatoes, rolls, cranberry sauce depending on how its made, no to canned. Will pass on the green bean casserole. Will eat regular green beans just not the green bean casserole.

I don't think there are traditional side dishes and they vary region to region, family to family. I've never liked sweet potatoes and you'll never see them on my table. The thoughts of marshmallows on top to me sounds disgusting but I know others love them. Perhaps as with so many foods we eat, it's a matter of what we grew up with, and what we were exposed to.

Love green beans straight up with a pat of butter, but never in a casserole. I'm not a casserole person. But green beans are never served at my house on Thanksgiving. I'm a cauliflower and broccoli person.

I think the only constant at Thanksgiving is having some sort of poultry.

Mashed potatoes (nobody in my family liked them); sweet potatoes with marshmallows on them (we preferred just baked ones); green casserole (tried it once and nobody ate it--went back to plain green beans).

It was a more or less healthy meal at our house (dressing cornbread, mushroom soup, onions and mushrooms--no eggs, no turkey grease), until you got to the six pies and a cake.

NO to green bean casserole! I love sweet potatoes with just butter and brown sugar and will eat them for breakfast. Also love cranberry sauce in any form.

I guess I'm the odd ball out. Love candied yams, green bean casserole, cranberries (but not the canned sauce), dressing and pumpkin pie. Love Thanksgiving!

No to green bean casserole, sweet potatoes and absolutely NO to any kind of cranberry side. Just give me regular mashed potatoes and stuffing with gravy and then more gravy.

I like it all except for that awful green bean casserole and I wasn't crazy about the creamed onions mother used to make. Preparing them was pure torture.

We ate all of them for years. I still prefer green beans with almonds. No longer have green bean casserole. No marshmellow in our sweet potations. Pecans.

We didn't ever have the green bean casserole when I was growing up. But as the family got bigger as my sister and I married, we ate Thanksgiving at some other peoples homes.

The first time I encountered the bean casserole I was taken aback. I had never seen it before. I tasted it to be polite but it was awful. LOL The looks of it had no appeal to me at all. I just never eat it now.

I do like sweet potatoes. Just baked. No syrup, pecans, marshmallows. Maybe a little butter. I like the flavor of the potato itself.

I am in the minority I love the green bean casserole and I love stuffing!
