@LoveMeSomeQVC Thank you for the info~I have one set I still use, still working great, from years ago. Love these.

I've said this before, that we house sit for a week in summer, and they always look forward to my deadheading and fixing up their gardens. This year I brought along my KR to do it because using their small sheers, the things were useless. At that time I went to the garden store hoping to buy ones like my KR but they don't sell that type (which are sold really as "kitchen sheers") so I bought them a new pair of garden clippers...still didn't work great.

The KR are heads above the rest; very useful around the home inside and in the garden.

@LoveMeSomeQVC Thank you. I just got thinking they might not be back (was checking daily). I bought some on eBay last week. 3/almost $28, but there was some shipping. Near 36. It was an old set from QVC. They arrived Friday.

I like to keep at least two just for the kitchen and put them in the dishwasher. The "dirty" ones live in a different room and drawer. Trained up the grands pretty fast 😄

@Sunshine Kate - Several websites sell Kuhn Rikon shears, including the company's site, Amazon, and Walmart. However, the set of three shears in gift boxes at a lower overall price, as well as some of the colors, are exclusive to QVC.

@Imaoldhippie. I've bought them umpteen times. Yes, you do need more than one. They're handy while they last but don't last long. Poor quality steel dulls quickly, they rust or just quit cutting.

To sharpen the KR or any other brand, fold a piece of aluminum foil over about 4 times. Then cut into it about 4 times. Your item should now cut smoothly. I just did last night.

@Imaoldhippie - I've got two sets of Kuhn Rikon shears that are years old. One regular size, the other the larger size they offered to use outside and in the garage.

None of mine have rusted; still work; still sharp.

I have a lot of Kuhn Rikon items and have never had a problem. I have a set of kitchen knives that must be at least a decade old. Used every day; still sharp.

(The knives were a set of four that they said would never need sharpening - and they never have.)

I have a few from many years ago, still work, used often, and mine have not rusted. I don't know how the quality differs on newer versions. Mine still seem sharp.

I buy a set every year for my daughters and myself. One year I didn't buy them and my daughters were very disappointed. Now they are a must have. I throw mine in the dishwasher all the time and I've never had a pair of rust

I did find a set of four for $37 brand new in the package on eBay

Add my name to the list of people with multiple pairs of shears purchased over several years that have never rusted and still work perfectly! That is why I have continued to buy them to use throughout the house and yard and to give to others. The latch that closes the shears is better on some models than others, but that's really the only thing I'd have any minor complaints about—I use my shears just about every day.
