DD and I celebrated this day---yesterday--- with a trip to our local Red Robin---had a hot honey chicken sammie with a salad and DD had a ABLT on a crossaint!!! Love all types of sammies---

Every weekend from the local Jewish deli I get........

Corn beef special on rye w/cole slaw & french dressing. Whole Jewish dill pickle (from a wooden barrell) & small bag of chips on the side.

I second @happilyretiredgirl for the BLT with mayo, and I would add rye toast. The best is in the summer, with a fresh picked tomato still warm from the sun. But, alas, we can't have everything.

I like corned beef on pumpernickel with Russian dressing, BLT, and turkey sandwich with leftover turkey from Thanksgiving, not deli turkey, with mayo, stuffing and cranberry sauce.

Great question!!

Now this is something I can really sink my teeth into (LOL, sorry I couldn't help myself!!)

I love a roast beef sandwich with provolone on soft rye, a touch of mayo, tomato and a side of pickles. Delish!!

My favorites are Reuben on rye and real roasted chicken or turkey on sourdough with cranberry relish.

I can't eat gluten, so no good bread for me.

I always love a good Cubano, but without even knowing it was a special day, we were planning to have our homemade version of Arby's loaded Italian sub for dinner (sans the banana peppers since we aren't fans and SUBstituting provolone for swiss):

Love them all, hot or cold.

If none are on sale I usually get the Ultimate on 5 grain Italian, toasted, w/provolone, onion, tomato, spinach, cukes, green pepper, mayo and honey mustard.

Julie's Delight from Celebrity Delly in Falls Church, VA. It's about a half pound of thinly sliced corned beef on their homemade rye bread with coleslaw & thousand island dressing, with a pickle on the side. Their rye bread's as close to NY rye as I've had since we moved here 47 years ago. Every time I go there, I say I'm going to order something else, but I always end up getting Julie's Delight. I usually ask for the coleslaw on the side to keep the bread from getting soggy (I put some on the sandwich as I'm eating it). DELISH!
