Lindt Chocolate

My Spring assortment of Lindt Chocolate truffles arrived today about 4pm after spending a cozy day in the back of an UPS truck with temperature in mid 80s. Guess what a state it was in?

I gingerly set itt aside, touching as little as possible, to firm up without making a big mess. I could see soft, squished pieces.

I would have never ordered if I'd known we were going to have an early hot spell. Too hot for chocolate, window for it has closed for summer.

One year I had ordered the Lindt chocolate for delivery in late November. Wouldn't expect there to be any problems, but guess what? It was an unusually hot day here in Philly and much of the chocolate was melted. I called customer service and was issued a full refund. Give them a call @Kachina624 .

@Kachina624 As @Citrine1 suggested, I would give them a call. The problem as I see it with some chocolate... I've noticed when it has melted a bit as you describe, some pieces get an annoying white almost powdery look on top of the chocolate. I know it might be like honey that's crystalized, but for some reason, those pieces never taste as good as the ones without it. I hope it's all perfect as those Lindt chocolates are divine! Enjoy!

Just the opposite here in NY. With temps here still in the 20's and 30's I should be able to order food all through the summer.

That white is called "bloom" and is caused by temperature change. Experts say it has no effect on the taste or quality of the chocolate. It just looks unattractive. I'll call CS tomorrow. Their phones are jammed up today, you can't even hold. No live chat.

@Kachina624 lol I'm not an expert... so that's prob why bloomed-out chocolates don't taste as fresh to me

Wow. No live chat and you can't even hold! Catch them tomorrow for sure! I'm confident they will be able to rectify the situation for you. They are delicious, but not inexpensive, so you want to be able to enjoy each and every single one of them w no bloom

@Kachina624 - Why not just send the Social Team an email? They've always sorted out any requests like that for me pretty quickly. I can't remember the last time I phoned anyone at QVC.

You can just do a return online by going into your order. Your money will be refunded immediately.

No need to return the products.

The Q is going to be doing a bunch of refunds on this product. My order arrived today with the box having been ripped open, one of the two bags of truffles ripped open and half the bag itself missing, who knows how many truffles missing, the box taped shut with some of the cardboard still missing, and one truffle sticking to the inside of the tape. I did a live chat and got a refund, and was going to waitlist a replacement, but they are totally out of stock. I have no idea if the loose truffles are safe to eat, who knows what may have sloshed around inside that box with the loose ones; fumes, critters, who knows?

Yuk those situations are time consuming and can be frustrating.

The social team email responses at least this week have been swift maybe try that.

Since you got a refund, I think I'd toss the ones from the open bag. The second bag should be fine, if it was still sealed.

Lindt chocolates are so easy to find where I am that I'd never order them from QVC. Pretty much everywhere sells them.

Plus, the last time I bought a large (100 ct) bag from the Lindt shop, I ended up giving most of them away. I guess I've just gone off them. I have their rewards card, but for some reason they never got it entered correctly in their system and I stopped getting emails with the promotions they did.

In the end, it was more trouble than it was worth.

@cjm61. These were from a special promotion they offered about 10 days ago. They use the very slowest shipping method that exists.

Ordering Lindt chocolates when you live in a warm climate? Not the brightest move, they are sold everywhere. Oh, maybe to get a refund?
