They sure sold a lot of the NuWave. Always wanted one, but I kept myself from ordering. I wouldn't use it for turkey and now I only cook one or maybe two chicken breasts at one time. I feel it could be a lot of clean up for that amount of food. I would like it for baking potatoes though, but would take up too much room for the amount of food I cook at once and for the amount of time I would use it. I hope those that ordered enjoy and post how they like it and what they are cooking with it.

He talked about cooking the turkey FROZEN, then about half way done, take out the giblets and finish cooking. I guess you could stuff it half way of cooking, but the stuffing may never come up to temperature to eat it. I've never eaten stuffing out of the turkey. Instead I'd rather cook it in a dish and call it dressing.

Jan was talking about having to take the time to thaw out the turkey in the refrig. or even putting it in a sink of water. He wanted to skip that step!! Just go to the cooking and half way take out the giblets.

I have a friend who cooks her turkey frozen with the giblets in it. Glad she told me, glad I've never eaten at her house.

When I cooked my first ever turkey, I didn't know there were giblets in it so I cooked it without removing them. Worked out just fine; they got cooked and could then be removed for whatever you want.

If we did use a Nu-Wave, we'd do it the same way. I cannot imagine doing it the way it was presented on the show.

Am I the only one that CLEANS the inside of the chicken or turkey after removing the giblet bag? If I was to use the NuWave, it wouldn't be for cooking whole frozen poultry, that's for sure. The thought of removing the bird half-way through to take out the bag and putting it back in the NuWave to finish cooking -- sounds gross to me.

I did like the cooking ideas of pork loin, steaks, chicken breasts, baking, etc.

What about seasoning the bird? You do that half way through, also? This is a deal breaker for me. I'll stick with my oven and thaw the bird.

On the pro side, they are now saying you shouldn't rinse your poultry before cooking because you are splashing salmonella all over the place. But if you touch a half cooked bird, you are still contaminating your hands with salmonella because the temperature hasn't gone high enough yet.

Didn't SHOPHQ sell this thing awhile back, or was it a different brand?

Not to get gross, but I will, I wash the turkey (or chicken) with running cold water and the back of a spoon and I get out little blood whatever's and other red tissue. Then I thoroughly salt and pepper it. I think I would skip using the Nuwave for turkey. If I had one, I would clean out chickens when I bring them home, then freeze them.

Those of you who insist that you must always clean a turkey before cooking...what sort of contaminates do you thing you are removing by running water over it? The only ways to remove bacteria would be to wash with hot water and soap. Are you doing that? The cooking process will kill bacteria.
