Later I will be making a pot of chili. It's been a rough week. My grandson I spoke of in my last post came down with the flu, thankfully the baby did not. My DD, her husband and 14 month old daughter has the flu. Tuesday I spent the morning at Medcheck and tested positive as well. What a great vacation! Not! I hunkered down in the spare bedroom and did my best to stay away from DH. So far he has been ok. I had to go to four pharmacy's to find Tamiflu. At the last Walgreens didn't have it I said to heck with it because I didn't have the energy to drive anymore. The dr I saw gave me a paper Rx and said "good luck". I did get shot so Iwill leave it at that!

I am suppose to go back to work tomorrow and I'm not sure.

My oldest son and oldest grandbaby seem to be ok.

@Pooky1 you all sure have gotten your share of snow! I am with Ria on the snow, it's pretty for like two seconds. I totally understand her feelings. Is she feeling better?

Stay safe and healthy everyone! I'm sure DH will watch the Super Bowl. I have zero interest but do hope the Eagles win. Have a good day everyone!

Cold & dreary with some light snow tonight. Ugh ... so much for our sunny 40 & 50 degrees days.

Lasagna, tossed salad & garlic bread for dinner. I made a cinnamon nut coffee cake for dessert with cocoa later. Have a nice evening.

Already February ❤️❤️. January flew by. We had some rain on Friday and most of the snow is gone. We ate out last night. I had fish, and SO, he had a sirloin. Both were really good. It's damp here, I may make some tuna noodle casserole for tonight.

@MOMMAVik Your desserts always sound so good! I found out that Trader's Joe's had O&H Kringle this week. I don't know if it's always stocked there. I don't go there often. I got a pecan! I'm curious if they have it at other times. First time I saw it there. Got one for my sister and BIL also. So good!

I hope everyone has a good week.

DH and I enjoyed ourselves yesterday afternoon. We saw someone we know and haven't seen in awhile, had a quick but good conversation. I also saw some former students & classmates of my kids who are now grown and have their own kids. Talk about making a person feel old! LOL

I normally don't buy premade packaged entrees but the other day at Aldi, something caught my eye. For a mass produced item, the ingredients are pretty decent - grassfed, no antibiotics, no soy, and the label said "minimal processing and no artificial ingredients", so I thought I'd give it a try.

Today's menu -

Park Street Deli Sirloin Steak Tips w/Chimichurri Sauce

Creamy Mashed Cauliflower w/Kerrygold Butter

Steamed Green Beans

Good morning everyone. Yestauday was cold and rainy and today cold and cloudy with a couple inches of snow tonight. We ate with Anna yestauday and she made fettuccini Alfredo, broccoli rab, sausage and potatoes and peas with fresh Italian buns and green grapes. Last night I had a bowl of cinnamon life cereal and ria had a peanut butter sandwich. I'm on my second cold and it feels like its never going away. Tomorrow I will be making chicken and broccoli with baked potatoes. Have a wonderful week everyone.

Anna made for lunch yesterday broccoli and cauliflower, chicken parm, roasted red peppers, leftover peas and fresh crunchy green grapes and last night I had leftover quesadillas and ria didn't ant anything. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning! Would you believe, we’re expecting a high of 58* today? That’s crazy. It’ll be cooler the rest of the week with a few inches of snow predicted, but then some rain in there too and temps around 40* that I don’t think the snow will last. Time will tell. Then next week it gets real cold again.

The steak tips and chimichurri sauce were good - a little peppery but I didn’t mind. The meat, during the processing, was cooked via a sous vide method. Basically I just browned it a little and added the sauce that came in a separate packet. The meat was very tender. I’d buy it again, maybe even check out some other offerings from this brand.

The plumber will be here today regarding the fireplace gas pipe alteration. I hope he can do the job so we can move forward sooner than later.

DH will fend for himself today. I’m fasting until lunch tomorrow.

Oven baked chicken wings with bbq sauce, rice and peas & carrots. Pulled our last cranberry bread from the freezer for dessert. In a few weeks I'll bake more as we have some frozen cranberries.

It is getting cold again. Going for groceries Wed. so planning out a few days meal ideas. Getting a bit bored with our menus but still prefer winter cooking to summer!

I made a new recipe, "creamy crock pot ravioli and spinach". It was very good and thankfully, very easy because I was running around all day and didn't have time to fuss.
