Our refrigerator isnt cooling like it use to .I checked with a repair man and he said sounds like the compressor or electrical problem both are expensive and with the age parts may not be available. So called our local appliance store we have been going to for 17 years and they told us what would fit upstairs and in the space. Were getting a whirlpool top freezer refrigerator. Repair man told me to stay away from LG and Samsung . his recommended Frigidaire, Ge and whirlpool in that order. He also said whirlpool use to have the first spot but has dropped to third place due to repair records. Being delivered end of the week or Monday .he will call and let me know what day. I find the small independent appliance places to have better prices and treat you better. This will be th ninth appliance we bought from them.

We have been using the same one for 40 years. The technicians and sales people are well known to us, and we trust them. They installed a dishwasher last week, and we weren't even at home. We just left the door unlocked and they did the swap-out with no problem.

I, too, go to the local family owned appliance store. I've had to have both 25 year old micro wave and refrigerator replaced in the past few years. They are both GE's. I'm pretty sure, though, that anything made today won't last the 25 years of my previous appliances. But I can hope.

I am another believer in using my local appliance store. When I needed a new stove a few years ago, the box store would not install. It is gas and I did not feel comfortable doing it myself. Local store matched price and installed. Plus when they give a delivery time they are there when they say. Not like the big box stores that give you a window when they will deliver.

We had a repair man years ago in to fix our Maytag dishwasher and he was saying about isemakers that break alot.his own fridge ice maker he fixed tons of times because he loved having an ice maker but they were made poorly. I don't remember what brand he had. My wife never wanted an ice maker.

We bought a new GE refrigerator a year or so ago. After watching some YouTube videos about refrigerators, I felt comfortable with the brand and style we bought. It's spacious, but not fancy.

Ours didn't have a built-in icemaker; it was an optional add-on. We opted out. In the past, the icemaker in our refrigerators always resulted in service calls and replacements, no matter the brand! We decided to use old fashioned ice trays, and I'm happy with that decision.

We were happy with the delivery.
