Whirlpool dishwasher

got me a new dishwasher today delivered next week probably. got white this time to match new refrigerator.

Bosch, lasted about 7 yrs now I have to after each load is done clean that **** filter that got old fast. I was clealing that thing once or twice daily.

Man told me lay off the pods use only detergent cleaner. I was told once detergents gum up your sewer line . this fellow said pod plastics don't dissolve

and they wad up in the drain pump.

JUst read what Good Housekeeping tests proved and they said powder is cheapest, pods are most convenient and not messy it's really up to what U want to use.

Yeah, I've had one for yrs. Great appliances ! the filter in this one ain't as bad as that Bosch thing.

Pods are plastic that don't always dissolve fully.

Liquids are well already liquid.

I have a new kitchen and this time around I got a two drawer Fisher and Paykel dishwasher. Gosh I LOVE it! It only takes powder detergent.

My DIL recently had her high end DW repaired (sorry, don't remember brand name) and the technician told her not to use the pods. They don't dissolve entirely and gunk up the works.

His instructions were to use a tablespoon of Cascade powder. Not the liquid.

We had young relatives use our shore house this summer. They keep the place immaculate even with youngsters.

When we went down in the Fall, I found half a dissolved pod stuck in the dispenser cup. Returned the half-used box of pods at Thanksgiving and explained why.

Now there will always be a bottle of Cascade next to the dishwasher. The last thing I want is to have a sink drain clogged with u dissolved pods.

When we moved into this house, the builder put in the cheapest Whirlpool dishwasher available. That was at the peak of Covid and they were hard to come by. Well, it turns out that I absolutely love this dishwasher. Knock wood, it's the best I've ever had and my last two were very pricey LGs, the last one died after two years.. the "mother board" crashed and it was going to cost $450 to fix it. This one has few bells and whistles and I'm happy about that.

@SharkE Only 7 years old...disappointing. My Bosch dishwasher is going on 20 years old and has never been serviced. I also have a dual fuel Bosch stove which had one expensive service, same age. I have been very happy with these appliances. I replaced my Kenmore Elite fridge and front load washing machine with Whirlpool five years ago.

@house_cat in my 50+ years of marriage I have had so many dishwashers! The first kitchen aid that was in the house when we purchased in the 70's wouldn't die. We changed it out after 10 years because of a kitchen remodel and gave it to a friend who used it forever. Since that time I have had all price ranges, the two most expensive lasted no longer than the less expensive. I now purchase the least expensive replace it about every 7 years.

My dishwasher repairman told me to use only liquid detergent. The pods and powders do not always dissolve and then can cause problems.

It makes more sense to me to use liquid.

I suspect like everything else the quality of today can't compare with stuff we all bought yrs ago.

I just want simple not a bunch of bells and whistles I'm not gonna use machine.

I'm getting used to buying the cheapest low end stuff because I know I'll be back in the market probably within 5 yrs.

Manufacturers are greedy

Shark good luck with your new dishwasher. I love getting new appliances. Our last new appliance was a ge portable dishwasher 2.5 years so far it cleans really well better than my last Maytag dishwasher and is much quieter. I did buy a service contract on it. The Maytag I had a contract on and good thing. It got fixed so many times and two of the times once a control board 300 buck and another time the motor died also 300 bucks but contract covered everything. Plus other repairs that I don't remember what they were and again good luck with your new dishwasher.

Sharks have you received your new dishwasher yet? I'm excited for you. I love getting new appliances but a washer or dishwasher it my top favorite to get. I was excited to get the new fridge last week.

Our plumber told us to use liquid dishwasher detergent.

I buy Cascade Complete. I like that it doesn't have bleach, which I'm allergic to. It seems to work great.

Early in the pandemic, when appliances were hard to find, our dishwasher expired. We bought a Whirlpool, the only model our local appliance dealer had. It's turned out to be my favorite dishwasher ever. I like the stainless steel interior, and a third shelf at the top (which is removable). I use it for extra silverware.

Yep, got it installed (another 150). This Whirlpool is so much easier to start. Fewer options and options I 'm not gonna use anyway like I had on that Bosch.

Quiet, just hit 'Quick Wash' then 'Dry, 'Start'. Bam !

Hope it holds up . In these times your lucky to get 5 yrs out of anything. got a cheapie Whirlpool washer that is probably about time to go belly up. I hate that water conserving Bull****. Sometimes i have to draw a bucket of water from the kitchen to add more water to the washer !! The washer puts a thimble full of water in there makes me furious.

I bought cheapie washer on purpose , less to go wrong and when it does just buy another low end one. Next time I'm gonna make sure I can keep the lid up while it's filling with water and none of this pukey thimble full of water 'stuff'.

Sharks we have a 5 year old he washer that does fill up with lid up and does fill up with alot of water and there still like that. It was about 650.00 and speed queen washers fill all the way up with lid open also there just more expensive but they last along time. I bought the service contract on the dishwasher I bought a couple years ago and the Maytag dishwasher I had before that and I also bought contract on the Maytag dishwasher allso. It was well worth it because that dishwasher had to be fixed alot. The 2 biggest repairs were replacing motor that was 300 bucks and had to get control board replaced and that was also 300 bucks and both repairs plus other repairs were all covered by the contract.
