@qvc chick - The 11-cup and 18.8-cup Lock & Lock containers shared by @Nightowlz are exactly the ones I've been using for about seven years now (purchased from Amazon). I actually have two of the larger ones to hold all-purpose flour and bread flour. I've really liked having the longer, slightly lower bin orientation for scooping and leveling flour rather than a taller bin—I feel it is more user friendly and less messy. And for storage efficiency, I love the fact that both of these containers have straight rather than tapered sides.

FWIW, I like the "pantry sets" LocknLock offers here at the Q for things like powdered sugar, brown sugar, oatmeal, cereals, and such rather than standard bags of sugar and flour; they always seem to include containers that are either too large or too small for my needs, despite any claims they make about capacity. (And they always have the tapered sides, even though there's no need for nesting if you're going to keep them constantly stocked in the pantry!)

What would be a good L&L container size for :

5 lb Sugar

5 lb Flour

I like the square canisters. But they seem Too Big, or Too Small.

I think around 11 cups would fit the flour and sugar.

Help!

LnL sells some good sizes for flour. I keep my sugar in the original Domino container.

ETA: Look for their pantry sets.

They are out of stock now.
I found them on Wal-mart for $11.71. Search lock&lock 11 cup to find it. The bags of sugar I buy are 4 lbs. It fits.

I use them for sugar, brown sugar & powdered sugar.

I use a Rubbermaid 16 cup container for my flour I store in the refrigerator. It fits 5 lb bag of flour.

Amazon has an 18.8 cup Lock & Lock container which will work for flour if you want L&L.

Just make sure you buy something with a larger opening at the top so you will be able to get the flour out of the container easily.

18.8 cup lock & lock

I store my opened products in canisters, so not sure about exact size.

However, for storing spares, sugar and flour are VERY different in size. Leaned that the hard way. Flour is larger.

Several good suggestions here.
