The Faroe Island salmon says:

What's the difference between Faroe Island salmon and the Atlantic salmon?

Faroe Island salmon is a type of Atlantic salmon that is raised in the pristine, cold waters around the Faroe Islands. The Faroe Islands are known for their high standards of fish farming, which includes strict regulations on fish welfare, feed quality, and environmental impact.

Hope that helps

The salmon from Egg Harbor as well as all Faroe Island salmon is farmed.

It is supposed to be farmed to a high standard, but there has been problems with bacteria and containments being in the water. Thousands of pounds of salmon have had to be destroyed in the past, but at least it is tested often.

Wild caught is the best.

Technically farmed but not in the way the US does it. They live in the ocean in some of the cleanest water in the world with currents. Also don't feed them artificial stuff like you would find in US farms.

If you ever read about farmed fish of any kind, you won't ever want to eat it. Luckily we catch our own fish quite often here in Florida, but for Salmon, our Publix stores have it in their greenwise option which is wild caught.

The faroe island salmon is nice thick pieces of meat, no skin or bones and to my mind, is reasonably priced for what you get. And it always smells and tastes fresh. Now I also used to buy a whole salmon---top it with delicious things, wrap in it foil and put it on the grill--- but that was so many years ago when the cost was not that of a car payment-😜--I have no issues with how these fish are raised.
