"Cook from frozen" means just that. Do not let thaw. The FDA sets the guidelines for frozen food prep. Throw it out if it has thawed.

There is no number to call on the box and the food safety dot com people are not working today because it is a holiday.

I bought a box of shepherds pie 10 days ago. It was frozen, but I put it in the fridge by mistake. The directions say to cook from frozen, but that is long gone. Is it safe to eat if I cook it to the internal temperature posted in the directions? I cooked it and it smells good, but, I don't know if I should eat it. Help.

Take it from someone who has had a horrible bout of salmonella...
