I tried to ask this question on the item's page, but the webpage for questions wouldn't load, so I will ask it here--if that's okay .

Regarding item K84541, which is a Temp-tations ramekin (set of 4 10 0z., no lids, but have handles)--can you potentially add a little water to the inside of the ramekin, and cook an egg in the microwave, with these ramekins? I want to get them for a friend, if so. If this is unwise and might explode the ramekin, I'd like to know that, too. Thanks. Take care, QVC'ers!

But if you're wondering if you can boil the egg in its shell within the ramekin, I doubt the ramekin would be deep enough for the water to fully cover the egg.

If you had something else in mind, let us know . . . happy to help if we can!

Virtually any casserole, pasta dish, or potato side that you'd normally bake can be cooked in the microwave (though you won't have a very crunchy topping if that's part of your recipe). Steaming vegetables is quick and easy. You can even make cakes and omelettes in a mug or bowl. I could go on and on—I think people don't consider the microwave as a true cooking/baking tool, but it can do a great job if you use it properly.

For the microwave - I was more thinking of a cracked egg--into the ramekin--for scrambling or cooking the egg over medium/easy. If that makes sense. My friend loves food, but she's not huge on cooking--she loves her short-cuts. And, I think anything Temp-Tations makes a great gift, based on the artwork alone.
