A few weeks back there was a thread about vintage candy we love and miss. Cherry Mash candy bar was a fav of many posters. While searching for Cherry Mash online I found the site of the company that makes them, and sells them as well. They had this cookie recipe that looked good, thought I'd share it with you. Many people can still buy Cherry Mash, if you can't and want to buy them online ...you can. magic! LOL

They also had a cake recipe

CHERRY MASH COOKIES

With our thanks to Bonnie Lytton

2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
8 small Cherry Mash candy bars, chopped

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in Cherry Mash.

Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.

Cool on baking sheets for two minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Makes 18 to 20 large cookies.
