Kitchen Pet Peeves?

Call me petty, but it burns me up, when someone makes a Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich and leaves bits of peanut butter in the jelly jar, because they used the same knife, and didn't wipe it off.

This is why I ALWAYS use a spoon for the jelly and I'm the only one who eats PB&J. I love them together but only on my bread!

I have an odd pet peeve.

Bread in plastic bags. As the bread is used, the plastic end becomes longer.

I dislike the longer plastic end, so I cut it, eliminating my peeve..

DH drinks directly from the milk container. It's just the two of us, but it still bothers me.

He also will pour something in a glass, or use a fork, knife, or spoon, then rinse it in plain water and put it away. Drives me crazy! I've asked him to leave it in the sink to wash, and get, "Why? It's not that dirty."

Breadcrumbs in the butter dish, my husband is guilty of this, I don't say anything to him about it, it's my pet peeve.

When my kids still lived at home I would have the sink empty only to come downstairs the next morning to a sink full of glasses!

I don't like the crumbs of anything mixed in jars, It cost a little more but I buy squeeze bottles of jelly, mayo, mustard and ketchup to avoid the cross contamination because my husband would leave his crumbs in any he is using.🤨

My husband does the same with the milk and a spoon or fork. I told him to just leave them in the sink for me to wash. He is forbidden to do dishes...lol..🤣

@chiclets- My Mom did this with the extra plastic bread bag and I've always done. Instead of cutting it off, just fit the excess bag over the plastic bag with the bread in it. Makes a second plastic layer over the bread and keeps it fresher longer.

Food boxes that are almost impossible to open. Example: 4-pack of Graham Crackers from Sam's.The outer box takes Hercules to open. Another example: a box of 12 Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches....requires the strength of Hercules and a screw driver to pry open the end of the box.

As for family members, hubby gouges out big chunks of spreadable butter....most people swipe the knife across the top to get the butter they need....nuh-uh, not hubby. I have big ruts in the butter container.

I am the expiration date monitor in my house. Why is it always me that is squinting to find and read the date and then throw out whatever it is !?!

Mine usually has ice cream after I go to bed
and in the morning find the spoon placed in the drain!! Why! Just put it in the sink! It grosses me out! As my sister in law says “ they are like toddlers!’

That my fridge is always empty!

Hub eats non stop and doesn't gain weight. The day after we food shop he's always complaining there's nothing to eat. That's because he ate it all!
