In general, air fryers are a tick less noisy than a hair dryer since they're enclosed in a shell. But the hair dryer analogy is a pretty good one as they're essentially just a super-heated hairdryer. If yours is louder than a hairdryer, then something could be wrong with it. And like a hair dryer, the design of the individual air fryer will vary the sound of the air fryer. One with a faster, more powerful fan will be louder than one with a slower, less powerful fan. They all make some noise, and are obviously louder than a "normal" oven with no moving parts, but if yours is louder than a hair dryer it might have an issue.

nothing is as noisy as the ninja creami. sounds like a helicopter is landing or taking off. I love it. Even bought one as a weding gift. it is just loud, but it's only for a few minutes. if you have a creami, turn it on. you won't even hear the air fryer with the creami running.
