I do enjoy Texas Roadhouse, but I have two complaints which I remedy by getting takeout.

First, every location I've gone to regardless of the time of day, their restaurants been too loud with the volume cranked up on their music.

Second, I find the food over salted so I rinse the baked potatoes and even some cuts of meat.

I like Texas Roadhouse, however, the music is so incredibly loud that one cannot converse and that takes away the pleasure of a good dinning experience in my opinion.

We go to Texas Roadhouse twice a month. My only minor complaint recently is the salad. It is still the crisp fresh salad but the tomatoes are gone. The good tomatoes have been replaced with tiny grape shaped tomatoes with a bitter taste and sometimes they are even missing. I guess it is a supply issue of some sort and hopfully will go back to normal.

I told DH I'm bringing my own tomatoes for the salad!

I get either salmon or shrimp ka bobs - very good. I have started getting the appetizer size shrimp which is 6 shrimps. The meal size is way too much shrimp for me. I get a salad and steak fries. I have solved the salt issue by asking for my fries unseasoned and adding salt myself.

DH likes Road Kill, Ribs, or Ribeye Steak.

We don't go often but when we do the
Blooming onion and some fresh rolls with the cinnamon butter is all I need. Soooo good. I ordered the rolls for our Thanksgiving dinner last year. Came with a large tub of the butter. Yes, I will be ordering again this year.

We've had good experiences there.......but it's a bit of a drive for us. The closest steakhouse is Longhorn and it's a nightmare because of the staff.....heaven forbid you should ask to have your steak cooked any differently than what's on the menu. They will end up messing up at least one other part of your meal.......received mixed vegetables once that were totally raw. The waitress knew it and never came back to our table except to bring the check.

I buy filet at Publix and the BF seasons them w/Montreal Steak Seasoning and grills them. They taste wonderful.

It is pretty tasty and fun. The last Texas Roadhouse I visited was in Longmont, Colorado and the hostess seated us at a booth with a dirty table. I nicely asked our waitress if she could clean it for us. She did, but my husband was furious for hours at me.

It has been some time since I was there, but I order a little differently. I start with the fried pickles. My meal is the pork chop with a baked sweet potato and green beans for the side. I skip the salad. Be sure to avoid filling up on peanuts and rolls before your food arrives.

Our Texas Roadhouse is fun. It is not a stuffy steakhouse. In fact, the waiters and waitresses at one time line danced to music from Coyote Ugly. Everyhing stopped while they danced, and the crowd cheered. We always have a long wait. It is best to call ahead and get on the list.

This elegant establishment, Big John's Barbecue in Big Spring, Tx., is my favorite roadhouse. It's especially cozy in winter with an old pot belly stove burning in the dining room. No loud music. Oh, what heavenly food! Exit through the kitchen where the cash register is located, manned by Big John.

I completely agree with both of your points. We went twice to the one in our area. Both times the music was so increcibly loud and the food was so salty we couldn't even finish our meals. No desire to give them another try.

I agree with you about how loud it is in a Texas Roadhouse restaurant. We have one locally. I have to say, the food is very good. In our restaurant, not only is the music loud, but the staff is constantly yelling. Of course, there's a bit of fun if it is someone's birthday, but the particular restaurant I am familiar with goes way beyond that. The staff is always shouting and stamping their feet. They really go overboard. (Maybe they are like QVC hosts; they have to be "entertaining.") When I go to a restaurant, I enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere. I have stopped going to Texas Roadhouse for that reason.

We like to support local places as most chains disappoint, but I have to say that Texas Roadhouse is very good. Even though we don't drink, we always sit at the bar. You can get immediate seating most of the time, and the noise is much less compared to the dining areas.

I can't remember the last time we went to TR, but last week we went to Longhorn Steakhouse. It had been many years since that place too. My steak was very good, by the side salad was especially delicious - nice and loaded with cukes, red onion, cheese, bacon, etc. instead of a bowl of plain lettuce, one or two slices of cucumber and a cherry tomato. I could have eaten a salad with some protein as a meal and been quite happy. Next time I will.

We just ate there yesterday after church! We eat there at least once a month. It is one of our favorite places.

They have good food, you get a lot for your money and the one in our town has great service.....
