The fried rice is delicious and compares favorably (vegetable) to that available at my favorite China Town restaurant downtown.

For me, the price works out: you get 8 bags; so $7.50 per bag. I can do 2 bags, $15.

The restaurant now charges about $12.50, add tax and tip.

And no, I am not preparing my own fried rice at home.

And I neither have a hole in my head nor am I nuts.

Again, the expected slings and arrows hurled at those who choose to buy food from QVC.

I agree it is overpriced, as all the food items are.

If there are people out here willing to pay, then good for QVC.

Agree - when you break it down by serving, it's really not any more expensive than buying prepared food from a local grocery store or restaurant.

Check out Lundberg's rice. Grown in California and excellent company with the best quality rices and lots of variety.

We order directly from them--mostly Basmati rice and brown rice. But they do have already prepaired but haven't tried it.

Most of us do not live in NYC where the cost of living is high.

Fried rice isn't expensive in many Chinese restaurants. It is pretty cheap where I live.

I understand why some people think it is overpriced. They can buy it cheaper locally and it is freshly made, not from bag.

Different circumstances are at play.

Just explaining why I appreciate and enjoy and support and love this rice.

It's delicious! Best Fried Rice Evah! Many just loathe to see positive things said about QVC's food offerings. Why? Who knows?

Oh. By the way..... This seems somewhat negative to me:

The non-buyers love to mock and scold the buyers. It's the stuff that QVC forums are made of.

I am glad you enjoy the rice and that it is a savings for you. For many people this is expensive and they can buy it locally for less money.

All of us no matter where we live should be mindful that what works for one does not work for all....that includes me as well.

Love Lundberg's! Superior rice in many ways. Especially like the basmati and arborio.

You do have to look at the QVC food prices as what would the item cost in a restaurant, not what would it cost if you made it yourself. I don't buy a lot of food online, but when I do, it's always been worth it to me to not have to shop for ingredients, prep the ingredients, and cook the ingredients, often in multiple steps.

Would I buy this item? No. I rarely ever eat rice. But no put-down to someone who would. Others might buy that, but wouldn't buy the St. Clair sides I buy for Thanksgiving.
