I thought this would be interesting. Me? I am a Post or Great Value bran flakes or raisin bran flakes girl mostly. I do have a celebratory cup of Raisin Bran Crunch on the weekends.

I also like Nature's Path Heritage Flakes, and am wild about Lemon Cheerios (out of stock now!), an occasional bowl of Life, and I have to avoid Captain Crunch at all costs--I'd eat the whole box!

So if you are a cereal eater, what do you eat? I am old and careful about what I eat--so I am an avid reader of the nutrition labels!

These were my faves...

Oatmeal (with walnuts & light brown sugar)

Raisin Bran

Special K (with sliced bananas)

I learned in 2018 I was eating mostly sugar/carbs...

Even the skim milk I used was bad. They take out the fat and there is nothing left but the sugar...oy. No wonder why DH & I was gaining weight!

We were both normal weight til the early 2000's...then our bodies became VERY insulin resistant. Our bodies couldn't handle it anymore.

I haven't had any cereals/grains/sugar/fruit in over 5 years now. I feel too good to ever eat them again. DH feels the same way. DH and I are finally out of the Big Food/Pharma matrix.

I also don't eat nuts anymore...too many carbs. As for the fruit...I don't eat any of that anymore either because it's not the fruit of yesteryear. We finally cut out all the fruit too. Over the decades, it has been selectively grown to be sweeter with much higher sugar content. So most of the fruits available today are not what our ancesters ate occassionally (seasonally to fatten up for the winter).

Now that I'm at zero carbs on most days, I don't have the sugar addiction/cravings anymore...it really is gone...such a relief.

When I first changed my way of eating I would make my own keto granola for the longest time. Then I discovered Nu Trail Keto Granola, the Blueberry Cinnamon version, at Costco. It's really good. Most of the time I'll have it with some zero sugar yogurt, but I also like it with Califa Farms Toasted Coconut Almond Milk.

Without a doubt, Nature's Path Organic Flax Plus Maple Pecan Crunch Cereal is my favorite.

I don't eat usually this cereal in the morning, but sometimes it is perfect at night with extra pecans and blueberries with unsweetened almond milk.

DH is ketovore 5 days a week and twice a week he is keto. DH can tolerate a few more carbs than I can...but ONLY a few more...not a lot!). These are our individual formulas we figured out after much trial and error to maintain our weight/improved health.

I rarely eat any veggies! I will add maybe a 1/2 an onion (grilled in bacon fat) and top them on my burgers...but that is about it....and maybe once a week. Another higher carb day for me would be a slab or two of Braunschweiger as a treat along side a steak. For those that don't realize it, that is about 10 carbs for a good size chunk. Even eggs have about 1 carb each...especially if you buy the XL or jumbo. On those days I'll have 5 eggs scrambled in a tablespoon of bacon fat and have with a single burger. That will be my meal for the day.

As for DH, he does enjoy salads, but I only make them twice a week for him.

I hate to break it to you, but you are still not doing yourself a favor with the products you posted. You need to read the ingredient list.

Keep in mind, Big Food is not out to help you with your health. They are only trying in every way to keep you addicted to their food and they will put anything on the label to keep you bamboozled.

They all literally hire scientists & chemists to configure out the best way to keep everything as addictive as possible...no joke.

Everyone will find their own path to help them become healthier (if they want to). The process of DH and I lowering our carbs literally took years. Just like millions of others, we loved carbs!

HOWEVER, carbs did not love us back...full stop.

We started our journey early September 2018.

DH started with only having 60 carbs or less a day...for me it was around 70-80 (total - NOT net!). Why were my daily carbs higher that DH's? Because they were from the coffee creamers I used in my coffee that took me a LONG time to wean myself from. DH didn't have to worry about that problem. Funny thing is now our daily carb counts are in reverse. I ingest zero carbs most days a week...with 2 days a week less than 20 carbs...usually about 5-15 carbs (depending on what the carbs are coming from...ie., 1/2 an onion, eggs, etc) and DH hovers about 20 carbs or less most days and 20-30 2 days a week...his salad days.

About every 6 months we knocked our carb count down about 10 less carbs a day.

Looking back now, I wish I had gone cold turkey and straight into carnivore instead of chizzling away the carbs a bit at a time. But no matter, DH & I have reached our goal weight. I lost the same as Kelly Hogan on youtube...120 lbs!

If you start watching some of these folks I gave you info about, they will also explain how the products you are still using are no better for you. I can go on and on.

Off the top of my head, I remembered this particular 15-minute video of Kelly Hogan's. She is having a great chat with a 57 yr old woman in the UK about her success and Kelly contributes her same struggles/successes...eating carnivore, improving her health and ridding herself of her sugar addiction...it is titled:

"DETAILS OF AN AMAZING LIFE TRANSFORMATION AT AGE 57!"

Oh, and just one more of Kelly's success videos of a sweet woman in Brooklyn. Honestly, I wish I could meet her (and Kelly too) and give them both a hug...

"How Anna Maria broke every stall and lost 183 lbs!"

I love sooo many breakfast cereals! In the summertime, I have been known to eat cereal for multiple meals per day when it's just too hot to turn on the oven. My "usuals" are Honey Nut Cheerios, Cheerios Oat Crunch, Original Cheerios, Quaker Brown Sugar Oatmeal Squares, Corn Chex, Ohs, Frosted Mini Wheats, and an occasional bowl of Cascadian Farms Oats and Honey Granola (too high in fat and calories for frequent enjoyment but very nice atop a cup of yogurt as well).

I also still like Golden Grahams and Corn Pops, my favorites since I was a kid (when I enjoyed them at other kids' houses because we ate more hearty cereals at home), but the sweetness prevents me from buying more than a box of each per year. And also about once per year, I can't resist buying a little cup of Lucky Charms.

But I can't stand cereals that get soggy quickly, so no flakes for me—and definitely no Life cereal, which gets soggy when you just start thinking about adding milk...
