topic Anyone tried the 20 minute electric pie maker? in Kitchen

It looked so easy on tv. I put the pit crust in and then a can of blueberry pie filling. Put another pie crust on top and timed it at 20 min. as instructed. What a mess. The top didn't look done, the crust edges were over done and I couldn't get it out of the machine---used an extra wide spatula, and it just made a huge mess. Threw it out. Any hints on how to do it so it will turn out like the vendor did?

Seems like a great idea, but the reviews for this are pretty bad. Others have had the same problems as you had.

DH bought me a grill/campfire pie maker. Similar to the Prepology but on a long stick. I had similar disasters to yours. After that I stuck to baking in the oven, or "fry pieing" on the stove.
