      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;I love salads and always have them at the ready.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;About twice a week, I wash and cut up different lettuce varieties and spinach and mix them with cut carrots, radishes, celery and cherry tomatoes in a big container.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;I then cut up cucumbers and onions and store them seperately.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;When I am ready to serve, I add the salad mix to individual bowls and add&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;the cucumbers and onions, if desired along with whatever protein I want...eggs, chicken or &amp;nbsp;beans and dressing. &amp;nbsp;Sometimes I nuts or dried fruit too.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;The cucumbers and onions don't keep well in the precut salad mix. &amp;nbsp;They are too wet and make the greens go bad quickly.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;I eat a salad almost everyday, even at holiday time. &amp;nbsp;I use my food processor a lot.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;It is so much easier to prep salad mix a few times a week instead of everyday.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;&amp;nbsp;I don't buy precut salad mixes that keep getting recalled for salmonella. &amp;nbsp;I make my own.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;I love veggies and salad...yummm.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;We continued to have our salads throughout the holiday season. &amp;nbsp;I too make my own salads by washing the different types of lettuce (about to wear out the current spinner) and I add in lots of freshly cut veggies. &amp;nbsp;I also buy boxes of special greens (like spring mix) that are locally grown and carried by several area grocery stores to add to the mix. &amp;nbsp;Fortunately, my husband loves the salads too and encourages me to take the time to make them. &amp;nbsp;We both had to have a salad dinner during the holidays.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am usually a big fan of salads and most always have one with dinner each evening.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;However when I got this cold about a week before Christmas the though of having a salad just didn't appeal to me. &amp;nbsp;My body seemed like it was craving protein and lots of fruit. &amp;nbsp;I began each day by eating two tangerines and a banana. &amp;nbsp;Dinner each evening was fish or chicken. &amp;nbsp;No salad in sight. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Now that I'm feeling better I'm slowly getting back to my salads. I'm still not ready to have a big salad for dinner. &amp;nbsp;Tonight I'm just having a little bit of spinach with some radishes, cucumbers and a small grape tomato. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

It's been nice this week to get back to normal, and my body thanks me. One of my favorite salads, but I don't eat often because I heard it's the less beneficial lettuce, is a good wedge salad with iceberg, bleu cheese dressing, with bacon chips and minced boiled egg on top.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
