Beware of this loaf pan. Didn't buy it here.

It's really too small for bread not wide enough

Says quart and a half size, but, too narrow.

Might can adapt to some other types of breads, but, for the fat loaves I make don't know if I can make it work

It's the white one with tiny hearts on it. Just have to

make the dough smaller when I place in the pan.

Paid 60 for that thing !

I've been trying to make a recipe for banana bread with almond flour - for my diabetic BF.

First time I tried it, I only had a glass loaf pan and I think I whipped my bananas too much.

So, I found a metal loaf pan on Macy's and am going to try it again. He likes his bread baked very very well. I don't mind mine moist.

Yeah, things have changed so much these days you have to account for every little thing.

In my day it was just accepted a loaf pan was wide

for expanding dough. I never gave it much thought

This one is worthless. Now, will just buy one when I can actually SEE it. Best one I have is a Corning Ware French white pan. I have Le Creuset big lasagna baking pans and in stoneware why I bought this loaf pan.

Learned a lesson.

Good to know! One of my projects this year was measuring all my pans and getting rid of the ones that aren't standard sizes—I was surprised at how many there were—so that I can ensure all my baking has the best chance possible of success every time. If it's helpful, here are the three standard loaf pans sizes and volumes:

8 x 4 x 2.5" = 4 cups
8.5 x 4.5 x 2.5" = 6 cups
9 x 5 x 3" = 8 cups

I bake a lot of quick breads and specialty loaves but recently had some turn out flatter than expected; after doing this inventory, I realized I had been assuming some pans were the size I needed but they really weren't and also discovered that some of the markings on the bottoms of the pans were not quite accurate. Yikes. I also noticed that there are far too many recipes out there that just specify "a 1-lb loaf pan" (technically, this would be 8.5 x 4.5 x 2.75" for the baking area, which isn't common), and that honestly isn't very helpful if you don't know whether you're expecting a tall or broad final loaf. I also tossed all the glass loaf pans due to inconsistent results. Ah, baking really is a science...

I can tell by looking. Wait till after Xmas then have to go looking for yet another one in person.

Nobody works any more , kids are always out of school they probably won't go back till Valentines Day.

Impossible to shop now with all the loonies out there driving, all the fast food places are lined up back to Dallas, check out lines are a mile long.

I can't wait to get back home. Trying to find a parking place at Walmart is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I'm frazzled and sitting home till the first of yr. Kids squalling in stores, kids running amuck, you can't look at nothing for the 20 other people looking at the same thing.

I told a fellow older person in the store the other day back in my day you could count on slower days because of the work force would be off the roads by 9a.m. Stores , you could actually enjoy a little peace.

Now, nobody works any more. Walmart has those d*mn 7 ft carts pushing you out of the way. I saw a toddler get run over by a cart the other day. The young girl couldn't see her and pushed her over. I got out of there fast. I figured a camera was running.

My local stores open around seven AM and I'm usually in them right about then. No crowds, no chaos, easy to move around and I pretty much have the store to myself. Later in the day things dissolve into chaos.
