Bob Evans Mashed Potatoes

I've seen commercials for them and in the supermarket, but never purchased.

I love mashed potatoes, but honestly sometimes I am too lazy to make from scratch.

Has anyone tried them - good or bad?

Love them! Almost always on my grocery list. Their Mac and Cheese is very good also.

They are good especially for a quick meal. I make really good mashed potatoes, but we like Bob Evans, too.

We always thought the Bob Evans were good until we tried Resers. No comparison if you can find them in your local store. We get ours at Costco.

I'm with you @twinsister I'm looking for ways to enjoy not working so hard in the kitchen. These are great!

Was just telling a friend of mine last night to try these as myself and another buddy who normally do everything from scratch are thrilled we found these.

Just like @Deb665 they're on my grocery list often in fact picking up some sour cream and chive ones today. My friend buys the original.

They freeze well too

To make Garten's parmesan mashed potatoes for six, you'll need:

1 32-ounce package of refrigerated mashed potatoes
½ cup sour cream
½ cup freshly-grated Italian parmesan cheese
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus extra for serving

Twin, I've been eating them for years. I only buy the Bob Evans ones that say "Natural" on the cover. The other ones have all kinds of additives. They are really handy to have around, but I use them when I don't feel like making them.

That's how I did it as well, but coming from the freezer, there was too much water in it and was not good at all.

I tried freezing them 2x with the same poor result. It broken down.

I can't have many carbs anymore, but if I bought them again...I would only use them from the fridge.

@RespectLife I freeze the Bob Evans and Resers mashed potatoes, and yes! They are watery after freezing! But what I do is cook them as directed and then stir in instant mashed potato flakes until the consistency is what I want. You cannot taste the instant mashed potato flakes at all, and the mashed potatoes are then as good as when only refrigerated!

Thanks for sharing that! I did/do enjoy the conveniece of them!

I always have Idahoan Mashed flakes...I use it to thicken many soups!
