It sounds like it might be clogged inside. Did you run the descaler thru the machine in the last month or so? How old is the coffee maker? Try running a few hot water only and then your pod/coffee. Hope one of these work for you.

I have a Keurig single cup coffee maker and I'm disappointed. Using the coffee pods the taste is just OK so I decided to try ground coffee using the My K-Cup reusable coffee filter. This wasn't much better. It sputters and sprits and leaves coffee grounds all over, even in the perked coffee. I did weight how much coffee is in the pod and used approx. the same amount in the filter. The coffee just doesn't taste as good as the original big Keurig and it's certainly not the same as coffee from my Farberware 4 cup electric pot. Am I doing something wrong or is this the way these smaller units work?

Hi, @coffee drinker ! I have a multi cup machine but used to have a single serve version, like in hotels. I buy my K cups at Costco. Kirkland Bold brewing the traditional Kcup but our favorite is the San Francisco Bay Coffee pod that is a bit different. It doesn't have the cup part of the K cup but an open filter; the box comes with an adapter to make it sit up high enough to brew properly. I still hold the Keurig lip down until a steady steam of coffee flows. I brew mine at 192F in a 12 oz size.

if you need to descale, Keurig and others have a solution for that, check the big A. Sorry didn't read entire thread.

As a follow-up -- called Keurig this morning and told the CS rep the problem I'm having with the coffee maker. She had me check everything out and make a cup of coffee using ground coffee and the reusable coffee filter. I had the same problem -- coffee grounds all over and the machine was spurting. Long story short -- I will be sent a new reusable coffee filter to see if that will solve the problem. If not, call them back and a new machine will probably be sent. I hope this new filter works.

I am very happy with the CS rep. She was thorough and very polite. She wanted to help and for that I was grateful.
