What dish soap do you use?

Do you do dishes by hand or have a dishwashser?

I do by hand, and use either Palmolive or Dawn.

I wash dishes by hand and use Palmolive, I have a dishwasher but hardly use it, faster to do by hand. I use Dawn Platinum Powerwash on my car, takes all the gunk out of the wheel covers.

@qualitygal I use Dawn for dishes that are hand washed and Cascade pods for the items placed in the dishwasher.

I only have used Dawn for years. Does the best job on dishes and pots and pans and is so versatile for cleaaning other items around the home.

I use Dawn for by hand.

I use the Cascade dishwasher pods for the washer...which I usually only run once a week.

I've also used Seventh Generation dishwasher powdered soap, but haven't for while, once I discovered Cascade pods. But it worked well too.

Another Dawn user for hand washing dishes. I also have a dishwasher that I use Costco's Dishwasher pods.

Just a little off the original subject, but if you have a stubborn stain on clothing that doesn't seem to come out using regular pre-stain remover, try a spray or two of Dawn's Powerwash on the stain, rub it in, let it set for a short while or longer and wash as usual. I've had very good success with removing set in stains with this method.

I use Palmolive when I wash by hand. But lately I have been using my dishwasher more often as it uses less water than hand washing. For the dishwasher I use either Cascade Platinum Plus Pods or Finish Ultimate Dishwasher Pods.

I use Dawn dish soap BUT I am going to change. I find that when I hand wash dishes with Dawn I have to rinse and rinse to get the soap off the dish. I want to try a dish soap that doesn't have to be rinsed so much. I end up using gallons of water on one dish.

I have a dishwasher and use it maybe once a week. I now use Finish and am so pleased with it. I had always used Cascade and got tired of having to rewash some of the dishes after I ran the dishwasher.

As for your off-subject comment about clothing stains, I actually removed a fresh paint spray stain ( Rustoleum ) from an outside work dress. It was regular Dawn.

Have a dishwasher but never use it. Love washing dishes by hand - to me it is very relaxing and gives me time to think.

Use Ivory Liquid as first choice but also like Dawn or Palmolive

I use Dawn too. I only run the dishwasher a few time a year or if one of us has been sick and I want to sanitize the dishes.

I also use Dawn as a stain remover for clothes. Works even on stains that have been set in because the clothes went through the dryer. Much cheaper and better than Spray and Wash or similar items.

For those of you saying Dawn is good for stain removal...

Also, a handyman/painter who recalked tile in my tub also, cleaned the tile and grout first, which had gotten a bit mildewy, along with stubborn stains on grout that happens that nothing seems to take out..

He told me about mixing Dawn and white vinegar for tough cleaning...and I've done it ever since. It took off all the grime and mildew, shined the tile to gleaming and the mildew hasn't come back, 3 years later.

I've been using the Dawn/white vinegar mix for cleaning various things since...works wonders.

Some things always get hand washed, like pot and pans and knives and cutting boards.

The rest goes in the dishwasher which we run every night.

We use Dawn, both the regular liquid and the power wash.

Cascade complete goes in the dishwasher, but sometimes we buy the store brand at Sam's Club. It works just as good.

It's just the two of us, but we always eat at home. I am a from scratch cook and don't use processed or prepared foods so I use a lot of dishes and kitchen items.

I very seldom wash dishes; my husband cleans the dishes and I do the cooking.

We will wash by hand and use the dishwasher. It just depends at the moment. Since there are only two of us here, DH thinks running the DW every other night is OK, but sometimes I'll need something that's in there so I prefer running it nightly whether it's completely full or not.
