Whats your brand of microwave?

I recently purchased a 1000 watt micro wave from Amazon.I believe its buy Farberware.I dont need a lg one,just mainly to heat things up.

Does anyone else have this brand?

We have a GE. Came with the condo but it's the brand I would buy anyway.

I've had four in my life: Montgomery Wards made by Sharp, GE, Sears and Toshiba. Hands down, the best was the Sharp followed by the Sears with GE and Toshiba bringing up the rear. Oddly because I've always liked the brand my current Toshiba comes in last but not too far behind the GE. I'd barely had it before the inside light stopped working. Otherwise, it does the job. The GE just stopped working one fine day.

@Luvsmyfam - I bought a new Farberware microwave from Amazon just before last Christmas and I really like it. Did you get this one?

Farberware Countertop Microwave 1000 Watts, 1.3 cu ft

In early 2021, the Sharp microwave I'd been using for over 20 years finally had enough peeling on the interior that it seemed unsafe to use, so I got rid of it and purchased a new one. However, unlike any microwave I've ever used or heard of, that new one focused all the heat so strongly into the center that it kept burning food, so it had to go—didn't even make it for two years.

My microwave from Farberware is great. I love that it has a memory feature so I can program my two most-used settings and make it even easier to use. And the overall performance has been very nice and reliable. I also needed a unit that was smaller but not small, so this one was perfect, and this time I made sure I returned to a microwave with a door handle; the last one opened with a button, which I know is common nowadays, but I absolutely hated it.

I just bought a 2nd Sharp Carousel. They say you should update your microwave every 5-6 yrs. Mine went out it sparked on me and got hot on the sides.

I unplugged it and next day it was good. Went to the store and bought another for 229. First one was 150 5-6 yrs ago

Sharps are easy to learn. This one is quieter and when it stops you don't have to push 'stop'. when it stops, the clock goes back to the right time. You just open the door

I have a Tappan. It has to be about 30 years old. It does everything I want a microwave to do. It heats up food items fast.

I have a brand new Sharp microwave sitting in my closet. It has all the bell and whistles. I thought my Tappan would have "bit the dust" by now,

So I figured I would buy the latest and greatest.

So I am well prepared if the Tappan stops working.

@Luvsmyfam Good Luck with your Farberware. I have lots of Faberware items in the kitchen and am pleased with every item.

I have 2 microwaves. One is a GE over the stove. The other is a JC Penney microwave (not sure who made it, only labeled JC Penney) purchased in 1985. It is a Microwave Convection Countertop Oven. We use that one multiple times a day. I thought it died a few times in the past. Unplugged it for a day and then plugged it in and started up fine. 38 years old, this December.

I have a Litton microwave that I bought about 40 years ago. It works as well today as the day I bought it. Has all of the options that I need for reheating leftovers, heating frozen dinners, making popcorn, etc. I worked for the Appliance Division of a major supplier of electronic products to the appliance market along with other markets (automotive, aerospace, commercial aircraft, etc.). I can confirm that appliances are not made like they used to be. They are made to have a relatively short lifespan so they need to be replaced more frequently than older appliances that lasted for years and years. Sad but true.

I bought a Sharp when microwaves first came about. It lasted 20 years and then I sold it because we were moving.

The last two microwaves have been GE.

Oster 900watt, purchased from HSN about 8 years ago on sale w/free shipping. Works as well today as it did when first purchased.

I had to replace my 25 year old GE about three years ago and purchased another GE.Since everything is so disposable anymore, I don't think this one will last that long, but then again, neirther will I.
