Cheryl's Cookies - Yea or Nay?

I was thinking of sending Cheryl's cookies to a relative that lives out of state. When I mentioned that to a couple of friends they both said the cookies are "too sweet".

I've never tasted any of Cheryl's cookies - have you? If you have, did you like them?

@BunSnoop I order their frosted Christmas cookies & sometimes for Easter also, I think they are a nice treat but sometimes the frosting can be almost too sweet.

I love cookies but to me Cheryl's taste like lightly baked dough. They even have a dough-like texture and are very sweet. Many people, especially children, seem to love them. They do make a pretty, colorful gift. It just depends on how picky your recipient might be.

The fact they are individually wrapped and can be stuck in the freezer is a big plus.

Nay. We bought them a few years ago and they taste like regular store bought cookies.

I've received them as a gift several times and yes, while they are a bit sweet they are always very fresh and individually wrapped.

I love their brownies and it beats baking a whole pan when you are just craving a nosh with coffee or tea.

I tried David's cookies recently and they seem less sweet but their texture is more dry like a shortbread.

@BunSnoop We had them at work. They are too sweet for my taste, but everyone seemed to like them. I did like the oatmeal cookies.

No complaints from my grandson. I send them Valentines Day, Easter, last day of school, Halloween and Just because days. He likes the iced cookies.🥰

I had them once too and thought they were too sweet as well and the cookie is a thick cakey thing.

I wouldn't buy them again and have had much better even store bought cookies.

used to be Yea now nay . Way too sweet , love cookies , but these cookies somehow are even sweeter then years ago .

A big nay for me. They are not a quality product. I can get better cookies at my local bakeries.

@BunSnoop I ordered them for the first time about three years ago. Never ordered them again. Way to sweet. I took them to my cousins home for a BBQ treat with dessert and coffee later in the day. They said they were too sweet also. One bite was sufficient. LOL

We all like Tates cookies better.

They are not baked enough and topped with really sweet frosting like @NicksmomESQ

had mentioned.

Even as a gift, I didn't enjoy these.

@BunSnoop Tried them once to satisfy my curiosity and found them no better than the bakery counter at the grocery (don't like those either).

I have had Cheryl's cookies and disliked them and thought Pepperidge Farm from the grocery store were way better.

@BunSnoop WE love them. I get them most holidays. I like that they are individually wrapped. They freeze great for months and months. I highly recommend them.

I do need to state, I like dough. I don't find them tasting like dough whatsoever, but maybe that's because I like doughy things. As for being sweet, it's a cookie with frosting. Of course, it's going to be sweet. I go for these when I want something sweet and it satisfies me completely. Love them and find they are great to send as gifts.

Nay. I sent Cheryl' s cookies to my sister and her family and no one liked the taste nor texture of the cookies.

For several holidays dinners, quite a few years ago, can't remember exactly how long ago it was, I brought to the table at my aunt's house, both Cheryl's cookies and something from David's cookies, (and something from Harry & David). It was a brief tradition that I did because my brother's name is David, my dad's name was Harry, and my name is Cheryl. Mom was left out - couldn't find anything in her name. My family seemed to prefer David's cookies more than Cheryl's. I like them both. Cheryls is sort of like Lofthouse cookies.

I love them. They are soft sugar cookies, so the texture is perfect. You can buy them in most supermarkets. They are not Cheryl’s, but they are just as good.
