What do you use in the kitchen for hand washing, counter cleaning etc. if you don't use a sponge. I've tried so many other things and just can't find the right thing.

@Bridgegal I use wood fiber cleaning cloths. Just rinse with warm water and 99 % bacteria resistant. HSN has them.

My sink is a mess..........I have a double sided sponge, a scoth brite scouring cloth, a dish rag and 3 kinds of dish cleaners (all Dawn products), plus I've found that Windex works best on our black appliances. Plus rubber gloves.

Like the idea of those wood fiber cloths from HSN.

Microfiber cloths, mostly , look up scrub it sponges.

Double sided Scotch sponge and Scotch scouring pad scrunchy (flat, just a bit bigger than sponge) for dishes and pans. For counters I use the disposable disinfectant clothes I get from COSTCO.

For stove, fridge, ovens I use Sprayway glass cleaner and paper towels to clean and then use a stainless steel polish from same company. I love this glass cleaner...no ammonia and no horrible smell.

I use old-fashioned Handi-wipes for dishes and everyday wipes of the counter. I throw them away when they get yucky. For disinfecting, I have kitchen cleaning/disinfecting sprays that I spray, let set, and then wipe with thin, white washcloths that you can get bundled in packages from Wal-Mart cheap, cheap, cheap. They make great cleaning cloths and can be easily washed with bleach. I also use Clorox wipes for various things. I use Windex and paper towels for the appliances, although I am going to get some of that spray that someone posted once I'm out of my stash of Windex. I find that Bounty paper towels leave less lint than any other brand, so I use those exclusively for cleaning and Wal-Mart brand paper towels for everyday messes. I have an old stainless steel sink, and bleach removes any stains in the bottom around the drains where things tend to settle. I don't think bleach is safe to use on newer stainless, though. I use straight vinegar on the rest of the sink to remove lingering water spots, but I wipe the sink after use, so really don't have to do that very often.

I have scrub daddies and can toss in dishwasher. I also have the auto delivery they offered at Christmas time with microfiber towels too. I like those real well.

I have a ton of microfiber rags and use those to wipe down everything.

I also have paper towels and use those a lot when wash hands when handling food.

I use Sponge Mommies, sponge on one side and Sponge Daddy material on the other side. I love them. They rinse out clean and never have a smell. I sometimes use HandiWipes, but prefer the Sponge Mommies.

I love these Swedish dishcloths from "A"

I have yellow as pictured, but other colors are available. They are kind of "sponge-y crispy" feeling (don't know how to describe it) but are soft when you wet them. Plus they are machine washable (says up to 50 times, but package says x 100), either in washer or dishwasher:

I wrap my produce in paper towels before putting them in "green bags". When the produce is gone I keep the paper towels, let them dry then use them in place of sponges and cloths. Double duty.

I use Bounty paper towels and when using them for kitchen clean up I usually get two or three days use for routine clean ups. They are especially useful to wipe grease off dishes or skillets then throw in the garbage.

@Bridgegal. I use SWEDEcloths, wood pulp and cotton cloths. They are soft, rinse out completely never leaving a smell and have many great prints, they're very cheerful. Just looked on their site and had no idea they are made in Colorado

I use pop up sponges from trader joes and a scrub mommy. I have paper towels, but I rarely use them for cleaning.

I have never used sponges. I am never convinced they get really clean down in them. We buy HandiWipes in bulk, cut them in half, and put a new one out every night and throw the old one in the trash.

I have also used the Swedish dish cloths, paper towels (the Bounty ones that you can tear in half--I love those!), and even my hand to wash some things. Dawn or I prefer Williams Sonoma Dish Soap (fantastic on sale!), and lots of Clorox and other spray disinfectant.

We load and run the dishwasher every night even if not full and we can put sink racks in. We also love the small round sink brushes that go in a ceramic container with water and soap in the bottom (Amazon Full Circle Bubble Up set--we use many times a day).

I cut up chickens in the laundry room sink also then clean and spray it down like crazy!

I use old fashioned dish cloths, that go in washer and dryer. Some I have are over 20 years old, wear like iron, some double sided with a more soft side and a more abrasive side.

I get these crocheted nylon net scrubbies on Etsy. I like the single layer ones.

Just enough friction to keep everything shinning!

I keep Dawn at my sink and a drop and scrubby keeps it sparkling! I do this several times a day!

Nylon does not absorb so you just rinse it clean!

Great for that last bit of food on dishes and non-stick pots and pans!

They last forever!
