Who is Carla Hall?

I'm ashamed to admit I've never heard of her. Food Network star? Contest Winner? I don't watch many food shows nowdays, except David, of course.

@depglass Do an internet search. I first saw her on an episode of Top Chef years ago and on other shows. I generally like her. She's been on a lot of food shows but I would think of buying stuff endorsed by her or any other "celebrity", mainly Geoffrey Zakarian as he's a pompous jerk and his stuff is over priced.

@depglass She's been around the Food Network for years. I also saw her on Next Food Network Star. She has also been on Halloween Baking Championship. Here's one of her more creepy get-ups:

If you check out her bio, however, you will find that she has an accounting degree, worked at Price Waterhouse, and was a runway model before she became a chef. I really liked watching her on QVC!

I so enjoyed her on the Chew and was so sad when ABC cancelled that show. Carla, Michael Symon, Mario Batali, Daphne Oz were the chefs, Clinton Kelly tried to keep things in line.....LOL!! She was a judge on Top Chef and I think she has a restaurant in Brooklyn (if it remained open after Covid).

@depglass No ... that is Hell's Kitchen. I agree with you on that.

TOP CHEF is on tonight, I believe on BRAVO. It's with Tom Colicchio and Padma Lakshmi as the main hosts. The chefs compete in several contests each show and one person goes home at the end based on the views of 4 judges. The chefs are from all over the world. It's a great show.

Opened summer of 2016 and closed summer of 2017.

She cites a number of factors, including an unfavorable location and having too many other business commitments to focus on the restaurant.

@We rescue cats Loved her on The Chew. She was a contestant on an early episode of Top Chef as well as being a judge years later. I thought Clionton Kelly was terrible on that show.

@depglass Carla Hall was a contestant on an earlier season of Top Chef on Bravo and made it to semi finalist. She was a co-host on ABC's daytime show The Chew. She has been a judge and host for many Food Network various holday baking show series and she has written a few cookbooks

The "Chew" was the last daytime show I watched regularly. It was fun and combined talk and cooking. I was really disappointed because I have zero interest in the other traditional daytime fare. Carla was an important part of the show.

She's beeen on almost every food network show there is. I don' care for her down home southern receipes nor her penchanht for wacky glases ect.
