Got my new GreenPan

Man, that's a biggie ! Great for big families. I got mainly for chicken and dumplings. My fav meal. 6 qts and box and all weighed 16 pds.

I'm in process of reading the book on it. I got the light blue. I've sent pictures off to friends and sisters.

Make a pork roast in it, shred up and pour sauce over it or a brisket sure be cheaper then paying 20 bucks for

half slab of ribs. 2 brisket sandwiches can cost you 20 now days.

chili soup, bean soup, vegetable soup, chicken noodle soup, beef noodles. Looks like a simple and useful counter top skillet.

Sounds good so far @SharkE ! Mine arrives tomorrow and I can't wait. I was thinking about putting it on my counter but if it's really that big I'll just put it on a separate stand away from the counter. It's so pretty that I want to keep it out to admire it as well as use it ha ha.

Mine's still sitting on my dining room table since it arrived last Sat. & I haven't used it yet or decided where it will ultimately live. I haven't even looked at the instruction book yet, since I have stuff in the fridge that I need to use up before I think of making anything else! I do admire it on my table, though (I got the cream)! It sure is purty!

@SharkE New Green Pan - is this the one with white ceramin coating inside?

A few yeawrs ago I was so over coated interior cookware and I still am, over it all that is. So I turned to ceramic interior pans, I went to amazon and bought a couple of skillets by Green Pan. Of course, good prices on that site, had them in like 2 days, free s/h both ways (if I chose to return).

Here's my advice using your new pan (along with others who bought the same one you did). Ceramic is still an applied interior coating. If you're not using the absolute correct spoons, spatulas, cooking utelsils with these, you will scratch it, cut it, blemish it eventually. I didn't always use the NON-metal utemsils myself which was what caused my pans to look not nice anymore which really leads me to any and all coatings in our cookware to weawr off, come lose in our foods.

I don't use cookware with any type of coating anymore. We've "eaten" enough of these coatings with our foods.

Now, we ONLY use 18/10 stainless steel beautful high polished material with NO coatings of any type. It's a great price, all sorts of shapes and sizes, all from amazon of course and most importantly ALL made by a woman's founder ALL in the USofA (TX) called avacraft. Check this stuff out.

Mine arrived this afternoon, too late to cook anything in it. But I unboxed it and cleaned it, so it's all ready to go. The food prep area of my kitchen is U-shaped and this pot fits well in one of the corners. Instant Pot that was in that spot has moved to a shelving unit across the room. I won't be cooking tomorrow, so that will give me an extra day to decide what I want to try first. New toy!

I love it! It's so easy to use and to clean - and it looks pretty, too. So far I've mostly used it to saute, and I noticed how fast it heats up and how evenly it heats. I sauted mushrooms the first day it arrived, browned some ground beef, things like that. Haven't used it yet for slower cooking stuff like pasta sauce, beans or stew. But I definitely will.

I'm really glad that you posted about this pot and that I read your post, because I had no idea it existed. QVC never sends me emails about the TSVs, even though I've registered many times. I get HSN emails about their special value or whatever they call it, but never QVC.

What have you used it for so far?

veg soup and chili makes way to much for one person

made chicken and dumplings too. no trouble with them I can eat the whole skillet of them. LOl

Next thing will be bean soup using northern beans and ham hocks. (this is 'country hick' food LOL) add just a tablespoon of olive oil to keep the foaming down, put in little bacon grease, salt and pepper . Cuts hunks of ham hocks up , stir in.

It's a acquired taste, people. LOL My husband wouldn't touch with 10 ft pole. LOL Popular up around Southern Indiana and Ky. down here in Tx. the pinto bean rules

The only thing I've used mine for yet is a batch of pasta sauce. Used the saute setting to do the Italian sausage & onions & I think there's a bit of a learning curve on simmering stuff. When I added the tomato sauce, I had to watch it like a hawk & had to keep readjusting the temperature by how it was bubbling. I'm used to cooking on a gas stove & visually looking at a flame to tell how high it is, not setting an actual temperaure to simmer a sauce. It came out OK, but wasn't something I could turn it on & walk away from or it would've been scorched in no time!
