Applesauce ?

I have to say I've never wanted applesauce. I didn't hate it, but I was completely indifferent to it. Lately I sort of crave it and I don't understand. Is it because I'm old LOL ?Have you craved anything lately that you never wanted before ?

Maybe...I have that with beets now and I was completely not a fan when I was younger. Love them in salads now-earthy taste and all. Indulge your craving!

Yes...BREAD. I'm in my 7th month of dental implants (almost the finish-line)...and can't bite down on anything yet...(no front teeth).

And I'm getting really cranky, too...

@QVCkitty1 I love applesauce. I make my own sometimes and leave it a little chunky which is the way my husband likes it. I add a little vanilla and brown sugar and apple pie spice (not as heathly as just eating the plain, but we don't eat it like that often). This may sound weird but my husband likes to warm a slice of pound cake and add the applesauce on top as his dessert. It is actually good.

My craving lately is the whipped cream cheese, for some reason I have been eating it on crackers, toast, bagels....I need to stop....LOL!

Baked in the oven so far less fuss. It's REALLY good. Tweek as you like. I reduce sugar. Serve warm or cold.

My mom used to make really good homemade applesauce. I've made it, too, but I don't cook anymore. Always liked it on scrapple.

I usually always have a large jar of Musselmann's chunky applesauce in the refrigerator. Delicious and aways tastes good with just about anything we have for a meal. Something new that I'm craving? Yes - Fruit Loops cereal! I have never in my life liked sweet cereals, but bought a box of Fruit Loops on sale for hubby. I tried them and now want them every morning.

No weird new cravings I never had before but, I do like applesauce.

I like it best with pork chops, which I guess is traditional. When I buy it I always get organic no sugar added...I like it simple.

I too have made my own and it was easy and yummy. Sometimes I added a little brown sugar and cinnamon, sometimes just the cinnamon, sometimes plain, and it was tasty each way. I left it a little chunky too. So good.

I slice apples like for a pie, use a packet of Equal, add a little water ,cook till soft. Put in dish and sprinkle with cinnamon.Some times ladel over a piece of toast warm, and it's very good.

I never really had a craving for applesauce until I was watching a segment of 'Blue Bloods,' they were having pork chops for dinner and Erin (Bridget Moynahan) said she forgot the applesauce, hmmm, never thought of having applesauce with pork chops, it's a favorite of mine now. Loved watching their family Sunday dinners on that show, LOL.

@SoCal Bred you must not be a fan of The Brady Bunch. Pork chops and applesauce appear in a classic episode.

Love homemade applesauce-- a friends mom made it and added red hot candies to it as well as caramel squares. OMG so good!!! she would give me a jar of each flavor-----

I like Applesauce this way..

Strawberry Applesauce

1 small box strawberry jello

1 cup boiling water

1 cup Applesauce

Place jello in a bowl, add boiling water, stir until dissolved.

add in applesauce, stir until well combined. Cover & refrig.

overnight. Can use other flavors of jello.

Love applesauce and my family eats a lot of it. We get a bushel of apples every year from a friend, which I peel, cook down with a small amount of water, and freeze.
