I agree that they're very hard and messy to peel after frozen. I peel, cut them into about 2" sections and freeze in lock 'n lock containers. I also keep fresh pineapple in the freezer processed the same way.

I make banana milk all the time....just straight up 4 bananas with water. I usually buy overripe discounted bananas for next to nothing, package them in my Lock & Lock & freeze. Just recently, I'm making a connection....after I drink my frozen bananas, I get a "sour" feeling @ the bottom of my throat for about 30 minutes. Fresh bananas do not give me that feeling. Have you ever experience that with frozen vs fresh bananas?

I peel the bananas, break or cut them into pieces and wrap the banana in saran wrap. I usually use 1/2 banana for a smoothie...along with frozen strawberries or blueberries.

Depends on what I'm doing with them. Frozen desserts I peel. If I'm baking I freeze them whole. When they thaw I just cut the tip off and squeeze it into the batter.

I also leave the peels on, but I don't think it matters, you just need to know how many bananas your have if you are following a recipe, if they are all cut up, you would not know.

My son owns a gym and they make protein shakes daily. You definitely want to peel the bananas. Cut them into 1/4 or 1/5 and put them on a cookie sheet and then freeze them. When they are hard go ahead and put into a zip lock bag. Enjoy - if you leave the skins on they won't peel good and are a mess.

I learned my lesson after the first time. I didn't peel one and I froze it for use, later on, in the Vitamix from a frozen state. Well, you cannot get the peel off of a frozen banana! oops!

So, after that, I peeled them and cut them up a bit. I froze them in halves and then vacuum sealed each half banana separately. That way they stay good for a long time. Otherwise, the air gets to them and it's not nearly as good.
